I was thinking of asking the person who wrote the article, but I don't want to be spammed to death by Jambands.com.

It is bugging me. About like when I read that the Velvet Underground supposedly played here where I live. I did all sorts of research on that, and could not find anything. We don't have a date for the Weir story, so it would be very hard for me to look it up.

The version they did of Blackbird from the late 60s is alright. I bet Neil is shaking his head.

I think it is a trend that became the thing to do in recent years due to the success of Rod Stewart's cover albums. I just believe it is a bit pathetic that now a lot of old bands, washed up bands, etc. put out a cover album. I am not really a fan of such things to begin with - so that is part of it. I think they should just tour and play the hits, that is all anyone wants to hear anyway. Here's a set list from last week: Why in the hell should CSN be singing Stones/Beatles/Who songs? It makes no sense to me.

I tried to put aside my aversion to such things and listen to it with an open mind, but it just did not do anything for me. Maybe the studio version will be better. I just don't understand why they are doing covers though. I guess they are unable to come with any new material.

Of course, what is funny to me is that Rod Stewart and Santana are two of the dudes that really move me. But - they are reduced to putting out crap now. I am curious to know how Jeff ended up in that mix.

Oh I believed it. I just hate that formula as much as I hate the cover album formula.
