  1. I'm not much of Pink Floyd fan - and could never stand the whole Wish You Were Here deal. If you want to talk about dope, I think that album was made for people on downers. What I do like: Fat Old Sun, A Pillow of Winds, Echoes (except for the noise part), Dark Side of The Moon, and the Pompeii film.
  2. I was surprised. I was actually looking for a out of print comic book by Tim Truman, which I got for a good price.
  3. Someone has a copy of first volume of the Taping Compendum up at Ebay for 5 bucks.
  4. Maybe ABC can do a Fantasy Island type spin-off with Richard.
  5. I am just saying I don't think one needs to take drugs to enjoy the music. If the only way one can enjoy something is in an altered state, it may be time to re-think what you are doing. Do you think Roger was setting around eating acid when he made Dark Side of The Moon? I am not the Pink Floyd scholar you are, but I would be surprised if he was doing such things. He is too much of a control freak to do that, I would think. And I don't think American Beauty or Workingman's Dead would fall under the category of psychedelic music - far from it. You know what I really think of when I thin
  6. I wonder why they don't just release them together? They have done this sort of deal before.
  7. Interesting. I wonder if Geronimo Jackson is ever going to show up.
  8. I was just reading this at Dark UFO: I have wondered about that for a while - is there another group at work here.
  9. I believe Mr. Young is fascinated by new technology, which is part of the reason he went with Blu-ray. I think the other reason is that he feels it is more secure than the DVD format, and finally, he intends to add things to the box down the road - or so we have read.
  10. I've been listening to that music since I was a kid, and I never call it psychedelic music, or classic rock, for that matter. Some of what you are saying sounds like bullshit to me. And don't give me a lecture about drugs.
  11. I knew they would be getting Michael and Pam back in there soon, but I was surprised that Ryan was thrown in there as well. I guess B.J. Novak is tired of just being the writer again. I thought that scene in the kitchen was a bit odd, but I guess Jim had already set up Charles with the whole prodding of Dwight about the bees.
  12. Oh. Same thing, only different. Just another Paul song. I think we had a thread once where people could pick apart the White album. I figure it's fine the way it is.
  13. How is it fucked? It's just Paul doing his take on the "1920s sound". A lot of bands were doing that around that time - Moby Grape, The Monkees, The New Vaudeville Band, etc.
  14. Well, some people care about how releases sound. I have found that most first generation cds sound terrible. And some things, such as On The Beach, for example were out of print until a couple of years ago.
  15. It probably will. Sometimes they show up the next day, sometimes in a few days, weeks, months, etc. We never know - all we can do is wait. And of course, some shows never appear. We get a lot more Wilco shows these days, and a lot quicker access to the shows than we did a couple of years ago. So that is something positive.
  16. If you are talking about the most recent Wilco show from that city, no source has appeared yet.
  17. I think psychedelic was a marketing term made up to sell records. I have never used that term when describing such bands. To me, they are a San Francisco band, and thus, part of the San Francisco music scene.
  18. When I Came Down is a cool song. The Rebel (Whole song - Youtube link). I am not entirely convinced that is legit. It just sounds funny to me.
  19. I mean, we see that with older shows - a patch from an AUD into a SBD or whatever, (I am thinking of various GD shows) but this was a case of mixing and matching to try and create some sort of "perfect" show.
  20. I was not jumping on you - just putting that thought out there. People do all sorts of nutty things with files these days. I saw a group of songs not long of another band that turned out to be parts of various songs put together from different shows. And whoever did it, did not mark it as being what it was. That is like something a record company would do.
  21. I don't think that is a good idea - mixing and matching two different sets of files. I see a lot of this sort of thing going with another certain band's live shows; everyone changing this and that, tweaking, re-mastering, adjusting, etc. I guess some people like that sort of thing, others do not. I suppose I am apt to just accept them the way they are. Of course we are not talking about live shows in this case, but rather studio tracks. Everyone can do as they please with audio files - we see that all the time. It gets tricky when such things get put out in the trading community though.
  22. I think there is some talk of that in the first volume of the Taping Compendium.
  23. That was the first Dylan album I ever owned.
  24. I believe both of the above mentioned substances are in a powder form, and are brown in colour.
