I wonder if some more of these big magazines will go under this year? I figure it is bound to happen. I have not seen an issue of Paste in a long time. If it is anything like Rolling Stone, they could save some paper and just post their lists and news bits online.
  7. Back when I use to buy used cds, I would end up with a lot of BMG stamped cds. I think a lot of people use to rip them off, and sell them to the place where I use to buy cds. I think I still have most of them. I recall having to usually replace the jewel case, as they would be cracked. When I was a kid, people did this via Columbia House - which still exists.
  8. Hittin' The Note (official website). The Allman Brothers Band (Wikipedia entry). Photographs from the Beacon Run (2009). Albums: Officially released vault shows:
  9. I never really listened to them, the old stuff, or the 80s stuff. I won a radio station trivia contest one time - due to the fact that I knew the name of the famous actress Peter was married to back in the 70s.
  10. You should hear this show: Legion of Mary June 4, 1975 I doubt The J. Geils Band complained too much about their 80s success, it made them rich.
  11. I have always thought she was a bit off, but most creative people are that way.
  12. Elvis on Tour (1972) is a cool film.
  13. When I first saw the title, I thought she was covering The Animals song of the same name.
  14. The first (and so far, only) HD shot concert film I have seen/own is, The Black Crowes: Freak N' Roll. It looks weird the first time you see it - almost 3D, or it looked that way to me, anyhow.
  15. The more I read her latest interviews, the more I think she is a few bricks shy of a full load.
  16. I've heard most all of those, I just have not bought them. I gave up on being a completest a few years ago, but I will get those albums someday. Before the Flood (re-master) (March 31st) New Morning, and, The Basement Tapes also. Various Dylan Blu-Spec cds to be released. (Amazon.com link). I've never heard of this format. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
  17. I see that she is in a lot of music magazines this month.
  18. I actually have a slight memory of seeing that the night it was on TV.
  19. I should have mentioned that - mainly, the jam session part.
  20. I think without him, we would not have rock and roll as we know it today. I never really got into his music all that much, although I admire the cd and concert film I mentioned in my post. As you know, the music of the mid 60s-mid 70s is my favorite music to listen to, and he certainly was a major influence on those bands. Almost every time I read an interview with the members of one of the British beat/blues bands, he is often cited as one of the main reasons they wanted to form a band and make rock and roll music. I suppose his place in American culture overshadows the music he created
