Since I saw a show about this on The History Channel last night: Stealing Lincoln's Body by Thomas J. Craughwell.
-
This came about due to someone not paying a storage bill, is that correct?
-
Crowesbase link That was not the only night they did the song though. Crowesbase link They also did the song She. and Wilcobase link This is the show where Chris joined the band for Casino Queen. The Black Crowes Bootleg Project (TBCBP) Youtube Channel I see Marc is playing the Gold Top Les Paul that Rich gave him in various clips from this show: 15 November 1996 - Grugahalle - Essen, Germany.

That Black Crowes show was up at bt.etree.org not to long ago.

I know. That is just my view. Actually, I just read an interview with Kenny last night in a Jefferson Airplane book I am reading. He played for them too.

What is it you are having trouble with? -
I was making a joke - I don't like the guy. You are correct.

I suppose there comes a point when a band stops making albums you want to buy - so you just move on. That happened to me with REM, but not Wilco. I suppose I think it's sort of weird to keep wanting someone to come back to the band who apparently created problems for Jeff and the band as a whole. It's no secret that Being There is my favorite Wilco album and Jay Bennett is certainly on that record, but that was then, this is now.

That's how I took it - the name was one he had heard before.

You're welcome. I hope those links help you open the door to the world of bit torrent and file conversion. -
This is sort of interesting. Why all the Jay threads all of a sudden? I wonder. Wilco. I think that might have been the MTV Video Music Awards - I could be wrong.

It's pretty standard for all bands to not allow videotaping, let alone, posting them online. I have always figured it was due to people selling them and/or the money Youtube makes from ads that the band does not receive, due to the fact they did not authorize the video to be put on Youtube. Or something like that. Youtube is starting to crack down - the other day, I ran across some clips of The Band where the audio had been disabled "due to copyright violations". Youtube is going to start a pay for video download service - so I figure they are looking to get rid of even more "violations" now.
-
I taped that off of TV when they did it on Saturday Night Live - before it was released. It's one of favorite songs also. The video use to be on Youtube.

This is the section of Via Chicago where you can find threads about Wilco and related shows available through Bit Torrent and B&P. This is the site where you can direct download Wilco and related shows. A link to a pinned thread about Bit Torrent and Related Links, Audio file conversion, How-to, Wilco show lists, etc. It's also important to remember that while some shows appear rather quickly for us to grab, sometimes it may be weeks, months, or years before the shows are available for us to get. Also - sometimes a show it not taped, and/or it may have been taped and never gets rele -

First, you have to convert the files from FLAC to Mp3 - I don't own an iPod, so I don't really know much about them or itunes. Check out these links: How to convert - an FAQ from The Owl and Bear Bit Torrent and Related Links Also - if you do a search on the word convert in the Just A Fan or In a Future Age sections, you will probably find multiple threads about how to convert files. -

I have watched a few, no denying that. But, I am not really interested in videos of shows. I am however, interested in the AUD sound tapes of shows. A year or so ago, I had a few Wilco shows, now I have over 50 dvds of archived shows. I actually work on finding, announcing, and archiving Wilco shows every day. So that is where my passion lies. When something comes about that may ruin our ability to get AUD tapes of shows, I get a bit nervous. If one looks at the banned band list on Dime A Dozen, one can see that we have it pretty good. -

I like the French horn version. There are some instrumental jams from the Tall sessions that are not on the Lost Crowes release that I rather like also.

I agree with you - particularity when people are not suppose to be "video taping" Wilco/Jeff Tweedy shows to begin with. I find it a bit odd that sometimes people post a link to a video in a thread and it gets removed, and other times, it does not. -
I have the release with the video footage on it. I think Chris's habit of singing too close to the mic sort of ruins it for me. There are many AUD tapes of this tour out there to be had.

He is - and Van Halen are supposedly going to do a new album this year. Speaking of great books - Crazy From The Heat is a great book. I would not pay 117 bucks for it though. I think I bought it for 4 bucks - years ago.
