Are you into urban exploration/abandoned places? I look at photos of that sort of thing about every Sunday on Flickr.

Interesting. I have seen photos of snowdrifts from that winter that were over 12 feet high. -

Oh really. It does not snow in Southtown very often. How did the game work? What was the objective? Looting the Piggly Wiggly? -

That's good to hear. I think Tracy was told it would be until at least Tuesday. Those dudes must be working around the clock. -
I'd get them all - and if you do, make sure you get the re-masters.
-
I thought so.

What's the difference between them and Buckcherry?

I have to say that song Triad (it's on the Notorious Byrd Brothers re-issue) is a piece of junk - but I like the music. It could be that I am just to use to hearing the Jefferson Airplane version.
-
Good for you. Yes, they are more than nice to their fans. I had to wait ten years to see them for the first time.
-
That was the first re-master I bought. I have always been rather fond of What's Happening?!?! The rhythm guitar in that song is pretty cool. I have often wanted to jump into that scene in Easy Rider when Wasn't Born To Follow is playing.

I was 11/12 years old at the time. As I recall, we had a bunch of days off from school. -
I have met them all - yes. I don't recall ever meeting any of the dudes before a show - except for one time. And that was due to a Quantum Leap type moment. I would wait till after the show - but that's me.

Now, I am thinking of the winter of 1977-78. -
A friend of mine - who is about your age - always says he has a hard time with the latter stuff. To him, The Byrds, are Turn, Turn, Turn/Eight Miles High, not You Ain't Going Nowhere or whatever. I have never looked at it that way, but I suppose, if I had actually been of age then, I could see how the change(s) would have been hard to get use to. A bit like what some of us go through today I suppose - with bands we are into.
-
If possible - find out where the bus is, and go hang around there after the show. At least, that is what I have done in the past.
-
I am playing all the Byrds cds today - still some of the best re-master/re-issue cds I have ever bought: Mr. Tambourine Man Turn! Turn! Turn! Fifth Dimension Younger than Yesterday Notorious Byrd Brothers Sweetheart of the Rodeo Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde Ballad of Easy Rider (Untitled) Byrdmaniax Farther Along Byrds also - Live at the Fillmore - February 1969 The Preflyte Sessions

I have some photos from that week. The thing I recall the most is that I was in school at the time, and we had a week off. That had not happened before, and it certainly, has not happened since. Although - we did have two days off sometime in the early part of this decade due to a snowstorm. We have not really had much winter here for the past few years - this year, however, we are getting it. Storm of the Century - 1993 North American blizzard - 1996 -

A couple of years ago, here I live, we had an ice storm and some people did not have power for a month or so. I have only experienced that once - summer before last. Although, back in the early 90s (I can never recall what year), we had a week long blizzard - and there was talk that the power company was going to do a rolling blackout deal - due to the strain on the system. -
I was looking for No Looking Back on DVD and noticed it is out of print - except as a disc in the Edward Burns Boxset. Sort of odd - I could buy a used one for maybe 30 some dollars, or get the boxset used for about 40 some dollars. I am not all that fond of buying things used - but in this case, I may get it. I rather like those movies.

Keel Looks like the dudes are going to do a re-union tour.

I think I like the original better - it's a bit more funky: Mystifies Me - Ron Wood - I've Got My Own Album To Do (1974).
