Where to start with The Grateful Dead?
Analogman replied to reverandgroove's topic in Someone Else's Song
I found it hard when I first began to do BT - but once you get it going, it is second nature. If you dig around in the BT links section - you will find screen shots of how to do things. That is the way I learned. I am actually surprised that they have not put the brakes on soundboard shows being put up at various torrent sites - since they are aparently going to release more and more of the soundboard shows as time goes by. Of course - they did stop the downloading of them at archives.org. You can, of course, grab shows from archive.org without the doing the BT deal. AUD shows only - that is. -
You could just sign up. There is some good stuff up at that place. They have it set up nicely - video and audio torrents each in a separate section. I have actually never seen a torrent open like that on tape city - I don't know why it was viewable without being logged in.

I always thought facebook was a college student deal.

I was glad to see he came out about the staged scenes in The Song Remains The Same in the interview I just read. That must be the first time he has said anything about that - as far as I know anyhow. He also seems to say that he is open to more shows.

Other than the DP I have from 79 - I have hardly listened to anything outside of 65-74. -
There is some talk of more dates in the future.

It's not friendster.

All of these are out now - and the sound is really good + bonus tracks + and some new liner notes.

The Flying Burrito Brothers Live - Avalon Ballroom 1969
Analogman replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
I would like to hear it first - as there seems to be some talk of the band playing like shit. Not to long ago, I would have grabbed it from a certain place and gave it a spin - but that deal is gone. -
Have a nice day.

Gene Simmons blames college kids
Analogman replied to Gobias Industries's topic in Someone Else's Song
I have been listening to KISS since 1976. From what I have read, he was in a pretty bad financial state in the 1980s. Gene comes from a different time. His band, like Rush, was a band of the people - and the people bought records. With the advent of more affordable tape recording (cassettes), some people of course taped records from friends - but I would think the numbers were certainly not as big as the number of people who snag music online. At the end of the day, it is stealing. I know that. People seem to either hate him or admire him. I think you also have to know that wha -
I struggle with the fact that one of my heroes sells his songs to CSI shows - but as a wise man once said -

Alright - except for the fire simulation deal at the end. The Kaufman dude is fucking idiot. It was made by the BBC, yes? And I noticed all the dudes looked like warmed over death and all the ladies were heavily made-up - except for that one woman. I take it she is the one with him when he died. She seemed pretty out of it. -
I was waiting for you, bro.

Anyone have a nice FLAC rip of this handy? -
Yes, and we will have some work to do - as they are fairly strict about track naming and whatnot.
-
I actually never saw that.

Almost as good as the one where he asks Elizabeth Taylor is she is alive or dead - or something to that effect.
