  1. I think that is where I saw Allen Ginsberg. Is it on the Carnegie Mellon campus?
  2. Pittsburgh pre-sale - Aug 18 - 10 am
  3. I'm a long way from you, I'm a long way from home. And who cares for the feeling Of being alone? The notes and the words They will always unfold And I'm left with a manuscript That will grow old And the secrets all told anyway. So the song it is yours, And the song it is mine. And a cold wind it blows Through good fortunes of time. The hobo he leaves When the going is bad And the music he weaves Is so gentle and sad. But freedom he has anyway. And you know its time to go Through the sleet and driving snow Across the fields of mourning Light in the distance And you hunger
  4. We have mentioned this before - but those of you who have never read DLR's book - check it out.
  5. I have original pressings of the first 2 Ozzy albums on vinly.
  6. Although - I think I may have had that Tribute tape.
  7. The Ultimate Sin was the last one I can recall hearing.
  8. Those first two albums are pretty good - Randy Rhodes was pretty good at the metal guitar stylings. The poor dude can't sing for shit now - I bet his last album tanked - Black Rain I think it is called.
  9. Another difference a few years cam make - to me, Ozzy is Blizzard of Oz/Diary of a Madman.
  10. One of those networks should give DLR a show.
  11. Uh! Hey! Oh yeah! Ain't no way I'm sittin' home tonight I'll be out until the mornin' light A-just-a hangin' 'round in the local parkin' lot Oh, checkin' out all the girls, see what they got yeah they love it, when me an' the boys Wanna play some love with them human toys Woq! We wind 'em up n' let 'em go. Whoa! Oh yeah Whoa yeah! Woo! Summer nights and my radio (Ah-ah) Well that's all we need, baby. Don'tcha know? We celebrate when the gang's all here (Ah-ah) Ah, hot summer nights, that's my time of the year-ow! We made it through the cold And that freezin' snow is gettin' old,
  12. Those seem all the rage now also - I know someone who has a Joe Perry model Gibson.
  13. Geddy Lee used one of those also - I think they were all the rage then.
  14. The songs I usually listen to when I break out the VH cds - Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love Somebody Get Me a Doctor Bottoms Up! Outta Love Again - I rather like the quitar in this one. Light up the Sky D.O.A - may be my favorite VH song Women in Love Fools Take Your Whiskey Home - pretty good blues song In a Simple Rhyme Hear About it Later So This is Love? Secrets The Full Bug I'll Wait
  15. Fair Warning - at least for the beginnings of songs.
  16. I have one - Silver Bells/? + a whole year of newsletters. I should sell that single - it is still in the sleeve. Gary Cherone - Mean Streets. DLR - Unchained (1981)
  17. I guess they have something for everyone - maybe it depends on one's age at the time or what one was into at the time. During the 5150 era - I was probably listening to real heavy type metal. I don't think I ever really heard the other VH albums - until VH III. I will say that I like several VH songs - but a lot of them seem to fall apart at the end. The Sammy Hagar era certainly took care of that - good solid arangements. It will be interesting to see what they sound like now.
  18. You know my take on all of this - Gary Cherone. To me those Sam era songs are sort of a hard edged Journey or something.
  19. Instead of Robbie being the savior/saint in the book above - he is the devil/bad guy in Levon's book.
  20. That Sammy Hagar stuff is bland as hell - but they sure sounded a lot better on stage - going from the live video stuff I have seen. I doubt DLR can sing very well anymore - rather like Vince Neil - not much of a singer to begin with. I suppose it is all about big rock fun at the end of the day.
