In the year of thirty-nine Assembled here the volunteers In the days when lands were few Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny morn The sweetest sight ever seen And the night followed day And the story tellers say That the score brave souls inside For many a lonely day Sailed across the milky seas Never looked back never feared never cried Don't you hear my call Though you're many years away Don't you hear me calling you Write your letters in the sand For the day Ill take your hand In the land that our grand-children knew in the year of thirty-nine Came a ship from the blue The

I am looking forward to the Mark/Gary album - I like it best when they are working together. -

That album (maybe) left a nice present on my computer - and much like that Son Volt cd, would not really play on my computer anyhow. -
Just as I thought.

Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" Announcement
Analogman replied to SquashedFrog's topic in Someone Else's Song
That's a good point. I just think his lyrics have become rather run of the mill and generic. I am probably thinking of Lucky Town - or whatever one has all of those songs about snakes and dice and whatnot. I will tell you that the emotion he put into songs such as Stolen Car/The River move me to tears - the latter songs do not. -
Since I am just The Passenger, I don't know - we saw Wilco there a few summers ago. It must be a couple of hours.

Thanks, D.B.

Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" Announcement

You are right - I forgot that one. There is no way you can tell me that Human Touch/Lucky Town/Born In The U.$.A./Tunnel Of Love/The Rising are as good as the earlier stuff. -

Those song titles make me think of Human Touch/Lucky Town. I think he is another one on the list of bands I will probably not buy any cds of again. I don't really care for much of his stuff past The River. -
If someone could find the Batman Goes To The Planet Of The Apes comic book I had back in the day - that would be cool.

not bad - there is also this one When I was your age, I was shooting at sanitation engineers with a pellet gun. So - hat's off to you.
