I think it's just that the first album overides everything else they did. Speaking of Wow/Grape Jam, it's a good thing Robert Plant is such a champion of the band, as Since I've Been Loving You is pretty much a rip-off of the Moby Grape song Never.

I would think the one he has is one of the new ones.

I was at Jerry's in Pittsburgh the other day - they sort of laughed at me (again). Here is what I am looking for - in case any of you dudes happen to see the following somewhere: Moby Grape (first album) Wow/Grape Jam Moby Grape '69 Truly Fine Citizen (not the Edsel or other re-issues - but rather original pressings)

I have actually bought that twice - the first one I had was "borrowed" for several months - so I bought another one. I rather like the version of Bird Song on that disc.

In related news, I bought that Steve Parish book for 6 bucks the other day - it's worse than the Rock Skully book. They (Barnes and Noble) also had the Phil Lesh book for 6 bucks - I think it is a crap book also.

I rather like Echoes - except for the scary noisy part. And I think Fat Old Sun is a pretty cool song also.

The shows on Skullfuck and Ladies and Gentlemen... are much better than this I would say. I think it is all those factors you mentioned - plus, maybe they were just having an off night.
