I got to see Phil Lesh once - he played here on campus - it was a "secret show". I stood about 3 feet in front of him.

Where to start with The Grateful Dead?
Analogman replied to reverandgroove's topic in Someone Else's Song
I think he means without using city water, electricity, etc. In the Rolling Stone article, it says that he got all that land by simply claiming it as his own. -
They have better songs than that - that is mainly the one they are known for in this country.

The Replacements: All Over But the Shouting: An Oral History
Analogman replied to Analogman's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
With the words oral history in the title, I would think it will read like the first David Crosby book or the Edie Sedgewick book - that is, written in blocks consisting of other people/the band members speaking about the band. I have read probably at least a hundred if not more rock books by now. -

1. I forbid you maidens all that wear gold in your hair To travel to Carterhaugh for young Tam Lin is there 2. None that go by Carterhaugh but they leave him a pledge Either their mantles of green or else their maidenheads. 3. Janet tied her kirtle green a bit above her knee And she's gone to Carterhaugh as fast as go can she. 4. She'd not pulled a double rose, a rose but only two When up then came young Tam Lin says "Lady pull no more" 5. "And why come you to Carterhaugh without command from me?"
