I've never given them much of a chance (tho I do like Wilco's cover of "Any Major Dude"). So I recently came across a cheap copy of Pretzel Logic and in some ways I really like it. Something about the vocals in this group I'm not sure about, tho.

Ok, nice second half by the Terps. TX Tech didn't pull through for me, but that's ok. 2 or 3 isn't a bad start.

I picked Maryland mainly out of fan loyalty, but I'll admit that I almost picked against them. Davidson is a quality team--it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Looks like it could come down to the buzzer.
-
Ouch. That 9-0 run for Davidson to start the 2nd hurts.

First 2 games are at halftime already. Of the ones in progress, looks like we've got 2 good games and 1 stinker. (who let Stanford in?) Anyone ready to tear up their brackets yet? Just checking...

Its not really as infuriating (or even entertaining) as it would initially seem. I feel like I'm sorting through somebody's record collection where they forgot to hide all the embarrassing stuff. I guess there's a kind of honesty in that...just kind of amazing to think that this was published as a "definitive" list by an organization who (in theory) is supposed to, you know, have a decent ear for music.

I just spat coffee on my keyboard. Thanks. I wasn't going to click the link, but now I have to for entertainment purposes. This HAS to be a joke. Right?

Happy birfday, Phil. Been reading "Searching For the Sound" lately...pretty neat book.

I have one bracket with Old Dominion winning it all. Granted, I only put $1 on it, so it would be more bragging rights than anything else if it actually played out that way.

I'm changing my original answer to: D. Lima Beans

False.

Hard to say, but it couldn't be worse, could it? Next time around I recommend more weight-room and less buffet-table. I didn't recognize the team that showed up (or didn't) that night, but its all good cuz I have mostly convinced myself it never happened. Anyway, its basketball season now. I'm less of a die-hard for Buckeye b-ball. I'll root for them, but it won't kill me if they lose. I'll probably even root against them if they play Virginia in the 3rd or Georgetown in the Final Four.

Hasn't it always been? I worked as a below-entry-level editorial asst. for a couple publishers right after college. That was supposed to be my steady job while I tried to get some freelance articles published in local papers and work on my fiction writing on the side.(and it was far from "steady") I think I was making roughly $10 a year, before taxes. It was ok when I was single and had nobody but myself to support, but when I decided to get married it dawned on me that "Hey, programming computers is pretty cool, too!" I don't have much time for writing anymore, and I do miss it. I

I had to listen with no sound here at work--looks great, although I had to imagine what they were talking about. Will have to check this out later.

After yesterday, I can attest that SBS is an excellent album to listen to while driving around in the car at sunset with the windows down on the first 70 degree day of the year. (I actually kept driving around for a while just so I could hear more of it) Actually, I spent last night upacking boxes at my new house, so I also went back and gave AGIB and YHF their first full-spins in ages and after listening to all 3 back to back to back I have concluded that they are indeed the 3 most recent Wilco studio albums. I'm starting to see what some people have said about the connection between AGI

There are always debates about who squeezes into the last spots in the tourney and who gets left out, but that's part of the drama. We might be starting to see more parity among teams, but until the current 15 and 16 seeds start making a dent in the brackets, I really don't see a need to add more teams.

Dear BolivarBaLues: Please return my brain and stop borrowing it to write posts. Reading that was eerie because it sounded a lot like at least one or two of the voices in my head. Nicely done.

In this light, that "I'll be waiting for you" promise seems a bit ominous.

In a musical sense, I'd say "skank" would be more accurately associated with the dancing that accompanies ska music, which further cements my theory that the SBS copy we all have are demos and that, in reality, this will be Wilco's long-awaited reggae album. Edit: I see parm beat me to it.

I remember when that label used to be applied to them all the time. Actually, I hadn't heard that term in a long time--I though it had finally died out. Sorry to see I was wrong. -
Way to sneak that #2 seed in there. Upset city, baby! I hope your championship prediction is wrong. The state of Ohio might launch a nuclear war on Florida if they lose another championship game to the Gators.

Yeah, to use an NFL example, I know several people in Baltimore who still have some guilt over embracing the Ravens because they remember all too well the middle-of-the-night pullout when the Colts went to Indy and feel bad that essentially the same thing happened to Cleveland. Moving a franchise is always ugly.

Actually, no. I probably won't agree with you much farther than that, since I love the album for the most part, but IG is one of the weaker moments, imo.
