  1. Royal Headache is a great band... The "High" album is great too... Garage rock at its best... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIA0DqVgMFU The song Garbage...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppDBVo_8LK8
  2. Just listened to Stone Roses (the album) for first time in over a decade...It is amazing how timeless it is...really impressive almost 30 years after the fact...
  3. Regarding 31 December 1972... David Crosby provided rhythm during this as well...He isn't too intrusive (he had the high pitched clangy sound)... The jam after the Other One and before Morning Dew is really beautiful... December 1972 was a real peak for Jerry. The 12-10 and 12-11 shows featured stunningly aggressive PITBs...the 12/10 Other One was nuts...the 12/11 Dark Star was psychotic...the 12/15 Truckin' Dark Star is amazingly unappreciated...and the 12/31 show was among his finest jams... December was different than Europe, the summer shows, or the September through November shows
  4. 31 December 1972 Truckin > Other One > Dew.... Ya - that's pretty amazing...

  10. anyone remember "Charlotte" tie dyes? can you still get them?
  11. I too wonder about graceful aging. As much as I loved 1989 and the return of Dark Star, it also marked the return of vitamin H for Jerry. 1989 and 1990 were great years, but the inevitable slide had begun. ___IF___ he had stayed clean in 1989 and never used H again, perhaps he'd still be with us...playing only acoustic shows...
  12. I was walking into Kaplan MCAT study prep in St. Paul, Minnesota...
  13. I've always found the November / December 1972 Playin In The Bands to feature some of the most aggressive, intense, flavored, and all-out "fast" Jerry playing I've heard... For example the 10 December 1972 PITB has some moments where only Billy is even trying to keep up...Dazzling... https://archive.org/details/gd1972-12-10.132778.sbd.droncit.restore5801.flac16
  14. Here's to the transition from Dark Star to Morning Dew from 24 February 1974....Stickily passionate... And the ensuing Dew is ephemeral...wow... https://archive.org/details/gd1974-02-24.136140.mtx.tobin.flac16 http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/singer-jerry-garcia-of-the-grateful-dead-performs-at-the-winterland-picture-id74641271
