I gotta say - this show was amazing. The band is original members Jon King and Hugo Burnham along with David Pajo (Slint) and Gail Greenwood (Belly). Pajo was fantastic. Respectful of the original tunes but added his own style to them. And King remains a remarkably energetic frontman, particularly for a guy approaching 70. I was tired just watching him.

This wasn't the specific show that I saw but it looks like the same setlist. It's mostly early stuff, leading up to the first break-up of the Dream Syndicate. Steve Wynn book show

It was lots of fun, particularly in a living room setting. He told - and played - this great story of how he loved the song Save It for Later. He realized that if he slowed it down and changed one bit it became Tell Me When It's Over. It was very cool to see/hear him do it.

Saw Steve Wynn do a living room show yesterday. Lots of fun - great songs and stories from his memoir.

Jeff Lynne/ELO! They were my first favorite band. I had no idea they were touring and an old friend contacted me yesterday and said he had an extra ticket to see them tonight.

Going to see the new Brian Eno movie tonight.

Forgot how much I liked this one, particularly Pitch or Honey.

I'm still loving that.

Definitely in the conversation about great albums with terrible album covers ...

Seeing Robyn Hitchcock talk about his new book. I gather from other stops, he might play a couple of songs too.

Yes - I saw you sitting on the floor - but then I saw you leave before I could say hi!

It was lots of fun. It was a bit loose - they acknowledged that they have not practiced much. A few times they would discuss whether Lou should play drums or bass on a particular song. Given that they had both lived in Boston, they talked a lot about their time in and around the city. Very enjoyable night.
