Yes - I saw you sitting on the floor - but then I saw you leave before I could say hi!

It was lots of fun. It was a bit loose - they acknowledged that they have not practiced much. A few times they would discuss whether Lou should play drums or bass on a particular song. Given that they had both lived in Boston, they talked a lot about their time in and around the city. Very enjoyable night.

Yes! And I love how some episodes focus on the ensemble and others focus on specific characters. Willie Jack is so great.

Love this album - and somehow didn't know that Steve Albini engineered it.

Just picked up Long Island, Colm TóibÃn's follow-up to Brooklyn. I saw him read from it last night. He's a pretty entertaining guy.

Sad news. This podcast talking about Pixies Surfer Rosa is great. It's so interesting to hear Albini talk about it.

Saw Billy Bragg the other night and he played three Mermaid songs: Way Over Yonder in a Minor Key, I Was Born, and Birds and Ships. I put this one just now and realized that when I imported it to my computer years ago, I Was Born didn't come over.
