I sort of assume the short set is the result of age/stamina + the casino wanting those people on the casino floor and may even have set length guidelines in the contract...

The payments for his replacement are not really in dispute by Kramer so I don't know why we are making a big deal out of that.
Can we talk about how Aerosmith is opening their residency shows with a Joe Perry Project cover instead?

High Water fest daily schedule is now out. Wilco headline on Sunday 4/19. Same night as Mavis Staples and Sharon Van Etten so hoping for some collaborations!

Pretty sure it’s the Oct. 2017 Vic shows
You are so right. I deleted my confusing post.

Nice.
Compare the two Chicago Theatre Winterludes variety-wise:
2017: 106 songs performed with 49 unique songs.
2019: 114 songs performed with 48 unique songs.

Wilco delivered. It was a fantastic show.
My jaw dropped during Bull Black Nova. We Were Lucky was stellar. The surprise Spiders was intense and featured the South American guitar riff crowd participation. SVE opening.
Sort of speechless still.

That is the strangest review I’ve ever read. He simultaneously seems to be saying it was awesome and terrible.
I must be missing the awesome parts of the review. Seems like the latter to me. Mentions all band members in the article except Pat.

I totally agree with bbop. I was there last night and it just isn't a good energy for a Wilco show compared to many other venues. UIC was a better big option.
Last night was show #74 for me. The fake and real encores were pretty stellar, but other than that a very subpar experience. I really couldn't dislike OtJ more so that is likely a big factor for me.

John's part of a benefit show on Thursday (prior to Winterlude finale) at the Chicago Cultural Center:

Cup (Nels & Yuka C Honda) have a West Coast tour on the books February with stops in Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Nels also has a few late December shows/appearances in NYC.

Sounds like this could be a barn burner.
And less sloppy than their first show back after a few weeks off...
-
The link says they're broadcasting the Thursday show.
UPDATE: XRT's live broadcast with Wilco is being rescheduled from the Sunday night concert to Thursday night’s show at the band's request. The Thursday show marks the final night of the Wilco Winterlude and is the band's last performance in 2019.

That's exactly what this is.
But, who is Wilco's Dick?
-
That is one of the reasons it was chosen for release.
It's so great they are releasing these. Do we actually know how they (and who is they?) are selecting which shows from the archive to release? like, is there a Dick Latvala (Dick's picks) for Wilco?

Did the crowd boo or moan?
Ha. No! Not at all. Their original material had people moving around - semi-moshing, pogoing, jumping and shouting the lyrics. Nothing like that for Spiders.
-
Twin Peaks
Sort of interesting to see them perform their cover of Spiders (Kidsmoke) last night and the sold out crowd's reaction. It was the least popular of all the songs they played last night. Sounded pretty good to my ears though.

And for the record, I was going to switch things up on my request had my bid won a song.
No one believes that!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend this year, but was able to stream Jeff's set. The Vince razzing by Jeff and TJ as enjoyable.

And TWO private show winners!!!!!
Yes raising $60K there alone. So cool. Another show available for bidding online: https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/private-concert-with-jeff-tweedy-in-your-living-room-1934000
