  1. I soon lost interest in "Changes to the ABRDN PLC dividend reinvestment plan terms and conditions". It is now torn into squares and located in a strategic position in the bathroom. It's only you that keeps me from sinking into the depraved dark recesses of the internet.
  2. Second cuppa of the day so I've read the top-up. Ta again.
  3. Ta daddy-o. Sounds like the kind of looser performance I was pining for in another thread the other day.
  4. I much prefer the original, but this certainly has, err, something . . .
  5. Ha! So funny to hear that you were actually there. My (European) attendances started on the AGIB tour. I kind of miss that slight feeling of jeopardy about going to Wilco shows then - would it be 'moody Jeff'' or 'happy Jeff'. I used to like shows where I knew you were attending (e.g. Hammersmith, Montmartre) because I knew he would be happy since you were there! All this was after the post-Jay era of course when they were really loose (as far as I can tell) and often that was in a good way. I'd like to see a bit of organised chaos from time to time - maybe every show with a different ta
  6. I for one vote for a return of the Goth version of HMD. (FYI this is not a joke - I can't remember where I got it but it is in my iTunes and must be out there "playing Joy Division covers beautiful and alone") Ta.
  7. Top tip - you can save yourself some time and effort - just say Ta. It says it all.
  8. On the face of it a hum-drum last match of the pool stages with Fiji expected to beat Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F99GuKSG5GY However it turned into an epic encounter with Portugal winning by a point and amazing scenes at the end as if Portugal had won the world cup itself. It meant that much for them to get their first ever win against a 'big' team - whilst Fiji themselves are the usual underdogs they are a recognised rugby country compared to Portugal. Some real Portuguese heroes (some of them still not fully professional) to treasure rather than that tw
  9. So, I am increasingly inclined to declare that Cousin is my favourite Wilco album. There is a reluctance because it still maybe doesn't have a track that is up there to join the complete Wilco belters for me, but then again it does not have a track that fails to land. Every other Wilco album has at least one, and usually 2 or 3, tracks that I just don't like that much. Every song has a memorable melody, which is king for me, as I think someone else said above. I would struggle to hum any of the Cruel Country/Ode To Joy/Warm/Warmer songs - I just don't remember them (not that I have liste
  10. Interesting thoughts - thanks. I like reading about how people receive their music, and in an environment where they are not jumped on for expressing personal opinions one way or another.
  11. Nice. Brixton Academy a few years ago was pretty good, but Wilco really need to play in Wales sometime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PWB9rpOQVw
  12. Few things to do this morning even before breakfast. You know when I first saw the thread title my heart leapt - it's so good to know the report was there waiting as I got my cuppa ready (rather than an unpredictable midday arrival) I put it down to the extra couple of hours time difference for CA. Imagine my disappointment now that I actually open the thread. Bollocks.
  13. JT is pretty good at dealign with an a rowdy audience, but a few lessons from the scottish master Frankie Boyle are always useful . Try part 2 also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSvzizqz1Fs
