  1. I would say not given that there is an advertised support band, but for your sake I hope they have the support band very early and then do the 'evening with'. It's the right sort of venue to go for a full fat performance. Shame that they did not think so from the off . . .
  2. Ta. I must say it's a real pleasure to have you on Euro time so the review is there ready when I reach my natural tea break. The icing on the cake or biscuit, or whatever. Also
  3. Should have known you were a man of great taste. Ta for your ta.
  4. Spotted @ 2min 48 secs into the new mini-film from SubStack
  5. Not me. From the pictures it looks like a bigger affair, though just for a weekend of course.
  6. I think I remember reading that so I think you're right. Also for the U.S. folks I've found this: - 10cc ULTIMATE ULTIMATE GREATEST HITS 2025 TOUR DATES: Aug 27 Napa, CA @ Uptown Theatre Aug 28 Monterey, CA @ Golden State Theatre Aug 29 Thousand Oaks, CA @ Kavli Theatre Aug 30 Las Vegas, NV @ Westgate Resort & Casino Aug 31 Phoenix, AZ @ Celebrity Theatre Sept 2 Denver, CO @ Paramount Theatre Sept 3 Lincoln, NE @ Bourbon Theatre Sept 4 Leewood, MO @ Ranch North Sept 5 Chicago, IL @ Park West Sept 6 Detroit, M
  7. Boomers assemble! (apparently I do qualify by about 18 months). Not a picture from the show but gives you an idea to the set-up at this annual festival of about 2 weeks of shows by different artists each night in a 3000 seater courtyard of the venerable Palace. At that size it feels cosy but with enough of a crowd to give a sense of occasion. James and Elbow are performing on other nights this year. I would go to them but they are over the £100 mark. Not my picture but an image from last night - a very sprightly Graham flanked by veteran virt
  8. Ta. Next stop Dachau. Not a phrase I imagine has been said in a positive light too often. https://destinationwwii.com/visiting-dachau-concentration-camp/
  9. Ta. Your work is done for today, now get back to the beer and chocolate. There may even be a few Welsh fans lingering on from last weeks football for those reasons . . .
  10. 10cc tomorrow night at Hampton Court Palace courtyard. 2 tickets for the price of 1 Wilco one at the Royal Albert Hall, which is part of the reason I’m not going to that. Another big factor is that it’s walking distance (25 mins) which will be a real luxury. Delayed buying tickets until the weather was guaranteed to be good, which it is, so picnic out the back of the Palace then a trip down 70s memory lane. I don’t actively listen to 10cc, but all their hits are locked into my head and several much loved. Think I’d go for Life Is A Minestrone and The Dean And I as my favourites. Unfortu
  11. The latest series of Later has had a gem every week so far. . Also .
  12. Ta. Have a well earned submarino! That sound is really bright and exciting - hope it's the end of the strummy epoch - rekindles my interest in seeing them again (Base of My Skull excepted - I'm not a 'jam guy'). Also enjoyed JT flicking the 'V' at 1:33:05. A homage to Dave Davies maybe (see 2:15): -
  13. It's the uncredited Steve Marriott backing vocals that make it.
  14. Best orchestration since Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas
  15. Will be watching:- Been a big fan of Tim Key's radio show for ages. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03pn5pl/episodes/player?page=3 Funnily enough I have ruminated for a while on the idea of bringing Augie March to the UK if ever I won the lottery. It would be at a normal smallish venue, but I would have a guaranteed good spot up front.
  16. 'Ruggers' (WTF?) has been alot less appealing in terms of results the last couple of years. However renouncing my birthright is not an option, and our default stance being Welsh is always underdog, so we will endure. Also re Gallagher - I remember my early shows having that whiff of jeopardy about them - happy JT or grumpy JT. I used to like it if I knew Donna would be present (she came to Europe a few times) as I thought JT would play nice then. Now I'm sure the same applies whenever your aura is detected if ever JT is veering to the grumpy side. He knows you can imagine him standing th
  17. Ta. Re biscuit scenario. I am away that week on holiday. Sorry about it.
  18. Ta. Straight out of the Bbop playbook. Good stuff.
