  1. Nice to get the report! I heard about this..first from a writer from Relix magazine who I happened to sit next to...and then from someone afterwards who sat next to some of the Guthrie family at the show...since I'd just seen The Autumn Defense in NYC & knew it was going to be Pat & John (& no one else), I decided to get back to the friend's house who I was crashing with...sorry to have missed, but glad to hear the cool report!!!
  2. I've decided to go for one last show...I just need one ticket...pretty sure it won't sell out & I can get more than one at a $40 price right now...I thought I'd check here, as whatever amount I'm going to pay, I'd rather pay it here & help someone with potential extras (or friends of theirs with extras)... If you're interested PM me, or email me at "HareDurga@yahoo.com", or heck feel free to call me at home (585) 582-6331, acupuncture office (585) 346-4510, or my cell (585) 813-3561.
  3. Hey D.B. great to see you & your sweetheart in Cooperstown...looking VERY forward to seeing you guys in Rochester & will keep "The WILCO Report" going as best I can from the stops in between on the road to Mass-MoCA & Hartford (ironing out Columbus details too...)...here's some Wilco fun for you & L.L.-B. @Lukestar: And apparently it's a trend among this age group...who knew? I can't hear the sound with this one...but hopefully it'll get fixed...is there anyway to get these two kids to meet up for a duet?!!?
  4. Check you're messages here...and you know 13 is very auspicious number in the Cosmology of the Mayans...embrace the 13th Floor Elevatorage of the continuing unfurling of the ever expanding horizons of your Wilco wonderment...Celebrate! those things that make you levitate! Flying!! & flying the freak flag of full fledged Wilco craziness, & proud of it!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwU4iCnWAPU
  5. That was it exactly...hilarious, but cool in a goofy DIY kinda way too (though not exactly what I'd call punk aesthecially- but operationally, from the effort & intention- totally punk)...on the same landing that he sings about in "Heavy Metal Drummer"- he mentioned that part later...
  6. It's gotten a bit better...but...I was thinking about opening a page & putting on the audio stream & just leaving the sound off on the video page...but, sadly, they aren't in synch...

  8. 11!!! You are my new hero!!!!!!! Congratulations!
  9. Bold choices indeed...and great performances to match!!
  10. NPR is addinging tomorrow's Wilco triple bill show into it's Newport Folk Festival Webcast. Although the show isn't actually officially part of the Festival, which runs Friday & Saturday. Wilco goes on at 7:30 on Friday July 27th, 2012. http://www.npr.org/e...k-festival-2012 This was already posted under the "Newport" thread, but I figured, for clarity & visibility, it deserved it's own thread... Here's the full schedule... Friday, July 27 Wilco, 7:30pm Blitzen Trapper, 6pm Megafaun, 5pm Saturday, July 28 My Morning Jacket, 6pm Guthrie Family Reunion, 5:30pm Spirit Family Reuni
  11. I couldn't be more blown away! That trio of NYC shows is something that I hope will be a precedent. Like the five they did last December in Chicago. I hope these are half as much fun for them as they are for the die-hard faithful, & I hope it continues...words fail, so I'll let the list of songs they performed do the talking...I count 63 different songs (with some performed more than once, but not that many)...let me know if I missed any, miscounted or otherwise messed up & I'll jump in & edit & correct it... but otherwise, here, appears to be that list... "I could spend thre

  13. That sums it up pretty well! I couldn't be more blown away! That trio of NYC shows is something that I hope will be a precedent. Like the five they did last December in Chicago. 14. Camden was great, but almost as short as it was sweet- due to it being a festival, with 17 songs & around 90 min., if that... The trio of New York City shows were just mind blowing!!!!!!!!!! I count 63 different songs over the course of three nights. Which is astounding. It was like Wilco heaven. I hope they continue to do these longer residences in NYC, as I'll be there everytime, I can tell you that. I looking so forward to the rest of the gigs & can now say that that'll be Cooperstown, Mass-MoCA, Hartford, Rochester & Columbus. The last one is a definite after what I just saw. T
  15. I love all their albums & don't have much of a dog in this fight...'cept to say that I wish they'd play more, of late, off of my second fave "Wilco (The Album)". Being that "The Whole Love" is my fave I'd love to hear those you mentioned..."Open Mind" is one I'd love to hear & I believe that "Sunloathe" is only one they haven't tried a band version of...someone else here mentioned that Jeff has done a solo version of that, but man I'd love to hear a Wilco live take on it!! I also remember reading something Jeff said about the "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" songs working really well with "The W
  16. Is Nels playing with him on a regular basis on this tour? I dug/dig Sonic Youth, but...for example, I'm a much, much bigger fan of Yo La Tengo...I'm glad to see Lee Renaldo, but seeing him open for 4-5 shows after NYC led me to take it easy yesterday & take the person I'm staying with in NYC out to dinner...it was still humid (though not as hot & oppressive at the day before for the opener- most of which I caught), so we just got there late & listened in the background & strolled about in the shade... She's a huge Nels fan & was a little bummed when I told her about this th
  17. Thanks to bbop for the thread in "After The Show" that filled in details I couldn't recall! Fun groovy little surprise/secret gig in a great small setting...mostly four piece with John S. on acoustic guitar, & Pat S. on acoustic guitar & piano with a bass player & drummer (Greg Wieczorek on drums and James Haggerty on bass .)...nearer to the end, Pat S. switched to electric guitar & did a few songs there...the harmonies between John & Pat were an absolute highlight...as was the surprise encore covers of "Sentimental Lady" by Fleetwood Mac/Bob Welch & better yet, "You Ca
  18. Didn't see the other thread...this one could be deleted... Fun groovy little surprise/secret gig in a great small setting...mostly four piece with John S. on acoustic guitar, & Pat S. on acoustic guitar & piano with a bass player & drummer (will edit in their names later on)...nearer to the end, Pat S. switched to electric guitar & did a few songs there...the harmonies between John & Pat were an absolute highlight...as was the surprise encore covers of "Sentimental Lady" by Fleetwood Mac/Bob Welch & better yet, "You Can't Have Me" by Big Star, which was truly amazing!
  19. I spoke to someone who's touring the mrech end of things with Wilco regarding the baseball caps & here's the deal. Apparently these hats/caps are going to be available on the website fairly soon- he thought they were already, but they aren't. Originally they were available in red, blue & maroon...but they sold out of the end of the red ones the first night in NYC & they aren't re-ordering the red ones- looks like those were limited & now discountinued. They only had the red ones in NYC & there were none to be had at all on nights 2 & 3. They have re-ordered the blue &a
  20. Thrilled to be able to do something like this to get more high quality great Wilco material & support the band!!! Can't wait to hear these, but will have to get home from the NYC jaunt to do so...nice to look forward to between last night of NYC (7-25) & Cooperstown (7-28)!!!
  21. The Autumn Defense are playing after the Prospect Park show tonight (last night it got over around 10:30)...link to buy tickets below...think it was $25 & about 1/2 sold out when I got mine at about 1:00 p.m. this afternoon...this 3 day NYC stand is starting to feel like a cross between Solid Sound & Pepperland!! The McKittrick Hotel proudly presents AUTUMN DEFENSE Secret Late Night Gig Tuesday, July 24 at 11:45PM at Manderley Bar at The McKittrick Hotel 532 West 27th Street New York, NY 10001 All guests must be at least 21 years of ag
  22. An old Bass player I used to play with (& his new, to me, wife) are meeting up with me for Cooperstown & the Mass-MoCA show. I'm staying with them in Mass., which allowed me to go onto Hartford the next night. I hooked them up with camping tickets via you fine folks here at "Via Chicago". They've seen Wilco lots of times together (with their son Lou In Utero & then with him since he's been born), & Eric's first gig was '96 I think he said- but they've been as a couple somewhere between a half dozen & dozen times. We're all doing Mass-MoCA 2013 together as well!! Since they
  23. GREAT to meet up with Jack & Hugh and Emily & Jamie (think it was Jamie) at the show!!! All great folks & a grand time was had by all!!!
  24. Well a brief 2012 check in...love, & bought, the black 2012 Summer Tour Men's shirt ($25 & 100% organic cotton) with the Psychedelic Neo-Dragonfly type artwork!...Also got a couple soft, unstructured cotton baseball caps (a mere $20)- Maroon with a white "W", with the same cool "W" Logo that's on the facebook official page (minus the two baseball bats though) & "Wilco" written on the back...adjustable, & they really look like a team's cap...Team Wilco that is! They play a tour of triple A baseball parks (ending up with loads of clips on MLB.com from '09, and/or '10), they
