  1. Just saw Yo La Tengo do one of their "The Freewheelin" Yo La Tengo" shows. In a happy little moment of Q & A- someone couched a request for The Beach Boys by asking if they covered any Beach Boys songs, & if so, if they could please do one...to which Ira Kaplan replied...hey you know I've got a little Beach Boys question of my own that I want to ask & it goes like this "Mike Love? What The Fuck?!?!"...he said that he'd watched them on some late night show (Jimmy Fallon maybe) & seen the comradeship & wanted to believe thing were getting better & had changed...he said he
  2. Well congratulations little Luxembourg City, Luxembourg gig...you have just become the 11th official Roadcase Download http://wilco.kungfus...-city-lu-wilr11 I haven't gotten the chance to hear it yet (downloaded it yesterday), but...I'm sure pretty much any performance from this tour will be at least very good/near great, or better...but...sadly no "new" (previously unreleased on other Roadcase Shows) songs this time & an especially short set list too...maybe they just wanted something from the European leg...still, always nice to have, rather than not... Wilco Roadcase 011 / August 14,
  3. Wow now that's some impressive insider/detective work...buried on someone's page...they finally have corrected it now... http://wilco.kungfus...-city-lu-wilr11 I haven't gotten the chance to hear it yet (just downloaded it yesterday), but...I'm sure pretty much any performance from this tour will be at least very good/near great, or better...but...sadly no "new" (previously unreleased on other Roadcase Shows) songs this time & an especially short set list too...maybe they just wanted something from the European leg...still, always nice to have, rather than not...
  4. OK now all the Solid Sound shows for next year are gone from the Wilco shows page...weird...
  5. I've never been to Solid Sound, but am going this year...I was just basing it on the fact, that...at their website, Wilco has three nights listed for Solid Sound & you are able to request songs for all three nights...I think maybe I'll drop an email & see if I can find out what's up? I've gotta say I was/am really hoping for a Tweedy solo show there too...so we'll see...sorry if I got anyone's hopes up wrongfully...will let you know if I hear back... http://wilcoworld.net/#!/shows/
  6. Note- the setlist for this show initially listed on the Wilco website for Roadcase Show #10 was wrong..."Sameul70" pointed it in the "Wilco (officially released live shows)" thread in the "Just A Fan" section here, & I myself noticed it when I downloaded the show yesterday...I've corrected in in my original post here...and this is in fact the correct set list 7/18/12 set list: 01 - Misunderstood 02 - Art of Almost 03 - I Might 04 - I Am Trying to Break Your Heart 05 - Born Alone 06 - Side with the Seeds 07 - Spiders (Kidsmoke) 08 - Impossible Germany 09 - Kamera 10 - Laminated Cat (aka No

  8. Hard to choose a favorite from those three nights in NYC, but this might be mine...amazing show! As I've noted here before...it's really a thrill when they do a run in a particular town...three nights was like a little residency, and they ended up doing about 18 new songs a night (out of 27) or 2/3 fresh at each show...I counted 63 different songs over the three NYC nights. Makes me look very forward to the three nights in a row at Solid Sound this next Summer. Enjoy your download!
  9. The Steve Hoffman Forum...yeah I put up the Roadcase releases thread there as well...& keep other Wilco news updated there as best I can...great Forum... Hey kickbacks are kickbacks... Actually I think they have highly outstanding quality merch...& it's worth alerting the faithful here to Wilco stuff, because it appears to often be limited & when they're gone, they're gone... ...but much more so than that is the music & the Roadcase downloads are the best...wish other bands did as much...& hope they end up doing older shows sooner than later (hopefully when on recording

  12. I gotta say I'm sort of stunned to not see that yet either...I guess it's time to start requesting the shit out of that song for next year at Mass MoCA!!!!!!
  13. I've gotta since Jeff mentioned the whole situation with there being only one song, "Sunloathe" off "The Whole Love" that they haven't played live yet at the Columbia, MO show...and in doing so highlighted the new video that's come out...and since that has come out...I'm really surprised that they haven't done a version of it yet...hope they do it someday...soon...
  14. Head up folks who went to this show & loved it...or folks who read it about it & thought- I wish I could of been there... This show is now Roadcase Show #9 & available, like nowsville for purchase on the official Wilco Website... http://wilco.kungfustore.com/category/491-roadcase/product/3856-roadcase-009-september-16-2012-columbia-mo-wilr09 Wilco Roadcase 009 / September 16, 2012 / Columbia, MO (WILR09) This is part of Wilco's Roadcase series of high-quality live recordings. 16. An oldie but a good Taylor Mali on "What Teachers Make"
  17. LouieB- Amazingly cool!! Have a great time!! Hey if you happen to get the chance...let him know three folks were especially thrilled & grateful to have gotten "I Wish I Was Your Mother" in Cleveland, and we would all be equally as thrilled to get "Angeline" in Buffalo Oh & congrats to the Chicago Teacher's Union for their amazing struggle...read your posts on that issue here (& IIRC that your wife is a Chicago Teacher)...not only am I Left of Left, but I come from a family of teachers (mom, dad & sister).... Wanna make it rain? Just wash your car...Wanna get an act you love to
  18. Huge fan! I've never seen him front a project, but was blessed enough to see him a few times with The Everly Brothers...and...oddly enough, way back when...Muddy Waters was opening for Eric Clapton in 1979 & Albert Lee was in Clapton's band & I got to see him that night too. I'm a huge Dave Edmunds fan, but I think the coolest solo ever on any Edmunds album (& I bet Dave would agree) is Albert's work on "Sweet Little Lisa"!
  19. I can say that "Monty Python's Flying Circus" has given me as much joy as any show I can think of, & from that same era "SCTV" is way up there too...but...a show as unique & great is "Pushing Daisies"...still hoping it's resurrected via a cable network, or that they do movies or something of that sort to revive it...rumors abound, but nothing has happened yet...

  21. Have a great show!!! I send out some good wishes for "Wishful Thinking" for you...one of my faves too- they've done it 8 times this year (most recently on Sept. 15th at the Hideout Block Party in Chicago) & I was lucky enough to catch it on the 2nd night in Brooklyn & then one week later at Mass MoCA! Either way...here's the classic version from the "Ashes Of American Flags" DVD... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBLvMV2rxYU
  22. COOL!!! Now maybe they'll finally do a full band live version of this great song!!
  23. Here you go... https://www.midheaven.com/ I love the new Bill Fay too...you can hear the new one & a couple of others on Spotify... and this is the cheapest place I've found online... You may already know all of this, but just in case, & for others here..the early two albums ("Bill Fay" & "Time Of The Last Persecution") aren't available at the website I posted, sorry...but, personally, I dig the last two ("Life Is People" & "Still Some Light") even more!!!...It's also worth nothing that there are a couple other releases...in between the two early 70's releases & the two mos
  24. First of all...it would be GREAT if they'd FINALLY do a full band version of "Sunloathe"...I LOVE that song!! And sooooo cool to see "New Madrid" in the set list...probably my fave song from the Uncle Tupelo days... ...thanks for all the guitar/drum details for all of us gearheads...and just thanks in general to bböp for all the great reporting!!!!
