  1. I've never seen him solo...so I'm hoping for just one show, in 2013 or 2014 on the east coast somewhere within 6-7 hours, or preferably less, of the Rochester, NY area.
  2. I thought that they had announced last year, that they weren't touring as much in 2013 because they were going to be recording a new album of original material. So I'm not surprised, but I am totally thrilled!!
  3. I'll have to come back & edit this because I saw a load of live shows in 2012, but...this is a good start.. First & foremost the Wilco shows I saw were truly a cut above anything else. I saw them in December of 2011 & then 9 times in 2012. The run that I guess stands out the most is the 3 days in a row in NYC- where they played 63 different songs over the course of those three nights. I bet they'd normally play at least two dates in NYC, but I really hope that since they sold out all three, that they'd consider making this a regular practice of setting up a mini-residency in NYC
  4. I was just trying more stuff...because the link I found wasn't working for me either... Odd that they'd make it that limited. I did buy it myself. If you didn't catch it...here's some video links... http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/422224/december-13-2012/sign-off---jeff-tweedy--mavis-staples---sean-lennon----happy-xmas--war-is-over-- http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvxu4c_mavis-staples-jeff-tweedy-sean-lennon-happy-xmas-war-is-over-12-13-2012-colbert-report_lifestyle#.UN8SPKz4K_M
  5. It's not Wilco...it's Jeff Tweedy, Mavis Staples, Sean Lennon & The Harlem Gospel Choir... Here's a link https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/happy-xmas-war-is-over-single/id587716491
  6. Interesting on the official Wilco website they show all the March & April 2010 shows I referenced, but none of the North American dates listed on the setlist-Fm website for June, July & August it shows May 31st in Spain & then nothing until two shows (the last two of that year) in September in the U.K...as well there are gigs there listed as having happened after the two U.K dates & different venues for the end of May dates...weird?
  7. Doing a little setlist research, in terms of sheer breadth & length...it appears the mind blowing 2010 golden period of long sets over the course of 16 shows that started with 30 song show at March 22nd in Miami & ended with a 38 song show on April 11th, 2010 in Pittsburgh- peaking in Boston & Philly with 39 song shows & routinely running 35-37 songs (most of them closer to the 39 than the 30 parameter)...they then headed to Japan & Europe, where they did shorter shows (25-30 song sets) but still substantial... but on their return things got even crazier...starting June 17t

  9. Just saw them in Newton, N.J. ...absolutely great show. I would love to see them at Solid Sound!
  10. Apparently a couple of songs, from this week of holiday songs on The Colbert Report, are available as iTunes downloads...including, yes, "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" by Jeff Tweedy, Mavis Staples, Sean Lennon & The Harlem Gospel Choir!! All money goes to Hurricane Sandy Relief Funds...
  11. I don't know, but imagine, The Colbert Report tapes the same day it airs...so I'm thinking Thursday is the best bet, but I'd say Weds. is in the running too...depending on how early he gets into town & how early he has to leave...since they have a show in Colorado on Sat. Dec. 15. So Weds. or Thurs. ...good luck...
  12. I would if I lived anywhere near there...at the very least you'll see a great Yo La Tengo show!!!
  13. http://www.glidemagazine.com/hiddentrack/colbert-report-music-week-michael-stipe-jeff-tweedy/ Although the article is a little confusing...it looks like Jeff, Mavis Staple, Sean Lennon & Stephen Colbert will all be doing a version of the John Lennon classic "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)". There's a thread about here entitled "Tweedy On Colbert Report - Dec. 13th" And here's the article I linked to above... "Next week, from Monday to Thursday, each episode of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report will find the show’s host, Stephen Colbert, dueting on a holiday song with a number of noteworthy p
  14. I know Jeff Tweedy has been one of the special guests at Yo La Tengo's annual 8 night Hanukkah run at Maxwell's in Hoboken, N.J.. I know Nels Cline & Mikael Jorgensen have been as well...anyone else know of any other Wilco members who have sat in? I'm just sayin'...Jeff in NYC on Weds. for The Colbert Report...wonder how many days he's in town...because...the Hanukkah shows this year run from Dec. 8th- Dec. 15th. I'd lay good odds that there's a strong possibility of Jeff doing either Weds. Dec. 12th, or Thurs. Dec. 13th with Yo La Tengo. I know they have the gig in Colorado on Dec. 15th,

  16. Going to see Graham Parker & The Rumour on the reunion tour this Friday in Newton, N.J. actually. I saw him with a full electric band in Cleveland once, with two members of The Rumour in the band (think it was the most since the break up- Brinsley Schwarz on guitar & Andrew Bodnar on bass) & I've seen him once solo acoustic- both just great shows... As far as the albums go...my two faves, & highest recommends are "Heat Treatment" & "Squeezing Out Sparks", & they are followed very closely by "Howlin' Wind" & "Stick To Me"...Any of the four live albums with The Rumour
  17. WOW!! So apparently Wilco WILL be playing somewhere else in the U.S. besides Solid Sound in 2013... Thursday May 30th- Sunday June 2nd at The Nelsonville Music Festival in Nelsonville, Ohio. And John Prine, who I love & have never seen, is another headliner. It's 425-450 miles one way from Rochester, NY & a good hour beyond Columbus (where I saw the tour closer this last year)...so that's around 7 hours one way, but could be done in 6 I'm pretty sure. I'll have to see how many shows they are doing in North America & where...and when John Prine is playing in relation to them, before
  18. What about Wilco on Friday & Saturday & Tweedy solo on Sunday...or...Wilco Friday & Sunday & Tweedy on Saturday...or...you get the idea One show a day for Tweedy- two being Wilco...my bet is there will two Wilco shows with a 3rd appearance for others via Nels doing at least one other project, & The Autumn Defense...so why not Tweedy doing another outside of Wilco? I'm sure hoping so...
  19. First of all, more than anything I want a ~Jeff Tweedy* solo performance, along with the two Wilco performances. I've never seen him solo before & I think I also make this my Christmas wish As for the rest of the shebang...I know they are longer shots, but...~Yo La Tengo* don't live that far away (Hoboken, N.J.) & they've played with Wilco before...I doubt we'll see ~The Flaming Lips*, but they are another fave choice... An even longer shot would be a band that's partly Chicago based now still (up to three members used to live there, two still do) & that's ~The Mekons*...a better
  20. I think it'll have to happen eventually...or in other words...I too am keeping a thread of hope alive that they start to do some archival releases...
  21. In for a pair myself...know other friends are getting tickets as I type...Wa-Hoo!!! Hoping for two full Wilco shows & a Jeff Tweedy solo...everything else is just extra joy...
  22. Well now it really does feel like the Holidays!! Ready to go for 10 a.m.!!! Really hope there are going to be two full Wilco shows, but I couldn't find anything anywhere that said that myself... And really hoping for a Jeff Tweedy solo show, since I've yet to see that...
