Bicentennial was a huge event and was in the news a lot at the time. At least from a childs perspective. Bruce Jenner in the Olympics. Man, he was worshipped as THE American icon for a while there.

Today I'm still suffering from the mosquito bites I received on Sunday afternoon. I tend to be kinda immune to those things but not this time. Maybe some kinda supercharged skeeter got me.

Also, not today but yesterday, I got one of those gold Busch Light trophy cans. I cant wait to find out what I won! Winner, winner chicken dinner.....

Today I ruined yet another favorite and rather new piece of clothing. This is a skill I wish I didn't have.

Today, I'm on the phone, working, and all of a sudden there is a big angry tick on my hand. I freak out and get it off me. Sit back down, apologize to the person I'm speaking with and then notice the big angry tick is on my other hand. Another freak out occurs, then apologies, again. Dammit I hate ticks.

Another guy was muttering about spoiled bagels and rotten cream cheese while scratching himself and giggling.

There were a lot of freaks in the lot roaming around. It felt safer under a car. I had a number of encounters with freaks in the lot at night who were so high on acid they couldn't speak but were kinda ominous and threatening in their actions. One guy kept grunting and showing us his scarred arm and hand, then he'd make this weird screech noise. Then it was back to his hand again. It was a big relief when he finally wandered away.

Back to touring, my touring pals were partial to big old cars. Did the 16 hour drive to Foxboro in a 72 Caddy. '89 Spring tour in another early 70s Oldsmobile, I had a '76 Plymouth. Cheap gas, lots of elbow room, riding in style.
