That's right, Sport. The butterfly bush in my backyard. They don't call it a butterfly bush for nothing ya know. Its some sorta hybrid so it doesn't produce seeds.
-
Today I've had a buncha Monarchs on my backyard bush.

My test kitchen determined that the juice of one lemon mixed into the couscous/black bean dish made it super delicious. Also, it amazes me that the caterpillar for the yellow eastern swallowtail butterfly is so different from its recessive brethren, the black eastern swallowtail.
-
Today I'm wondering how couscous mixed with black beans will taste. Only one way to find out....
-
Nah, I launched it a good 17 feet.

"Mob Cop" by F. Pascente. My only beef with this book is the title. Everybody knows the Mafia is called The Outfit in Chicago. Anyways, great book. Freddy knew EVERYBODY in the Chicago Outfit and used that to his advantage. He was a dirty rotten cop but he made it sound like a blast.

I've gotten thru the first 4 discs of the recently released "Day of the Dead" tribute project. Was everybody on a morphine drip during the recording of these tunes? I found most tracks to be dull, plodding, lifeless. Do I even bother with disc 5?

"Midnight Special". That Michael Shannon is a national treasure.

"American Tabloid" by J. Ellroy Half way thru. Oh man, is this book fun. All the conspiracy theories about the Mob, CIA, Kennedy and Cuba are fitting together quite nicely.
-
heh.....Drive By Truckers. I've been binge listening them lately.
-
Today I have DBT's "Uncle Frank" ringing in my ears.
-
"Blue Ruin" is the same league as "Winter's Bone". Excellent flick.
-
Interesting. Cant wait for Blue Ruin. I thought who ever did the set design did a great job of capturing the feel of the Punk scene with all the stickers, tee shirts, graffiti and whatnot.
-
"Green Room" last night. Pretty cool flick. Tonight, "Blue Ruin"!
-
Yeah, I was at my first "real job" too, wearing that tie. I don't believe it was a Jerry tie though. No longer do I have to wear the tie. That went the way of the whale oil burning lamp.
-
"The Sun, The Moon and The Rolling Stones" by R. Cohen. Enjoyable read but nothing new on the boys.
-
Sitting at my desk at work, wondering WTF I'm doing wearing a tie.
