Oh, I have. It's the best.

Just listening to "Birthday" by the Beatles. Not sure it exactly fits in this thread, but I do wish they had saved what may be their best riff and one of their best overall rock performances for a slightly less silly song. It's part of the charm of the White Album, but man that song is pretty damned heavy for what it is.

It's actually "Arm, Leg" at that part. When "Molly let's the children lend a hand" John(?) says "foot". I misremembered it, but nonetheless it is there. 1:42 After the line "lets the children lend a hand", the first time George says "arm", John says "leg" 2:33 After the line "lets the children lend a hand", the second time John says "foot". You'll probably appreciate this website: http://wgo.signal11.org.uk/wgo.htm

I love the White Album era for managing to take what would be throw away songs for anyone else and turning them into classic. This is no different. I also love how silly they were during this period, and how much of that sneaks into songs. "Desmond lets the children lend a hand (Arm!) (FOOT!)"

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines Sprung from cages out on highway 9, Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin' out over the line Baby this town rips the bones from your back It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap We gotta get out while we're young 'Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend I want to guard your dreams and visions Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims and strap your hands across my engines Together we could break this trap We'll

You never said anything about which specific "special groups" receive extra rights.

Are you bored? Is that what this is?

Also: http://www.adn.com/palin/story/850854.html 300,000 is not really the same "millions of dollars". She also said this in her speech: All but one of the ethics complaints was filed by Alaskan citizens.

Oh. That's spectacularly dumb. Is it some kind of inside joke/right wing meme that I'm unaware of? Is it Sean Hannity's version of lolcat?

Seriously, what is the "Algore" thing?
-
Well, I think that's the point. We as a species believe we can continue unabated, but there will be a tipping point where our actions have consequences and the system balances itself out. We seek to remove ourselves from the system of life, and that will bring our downfall (maybe).

"When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh shut up' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."- Glenn Beck You heard it here first, JohnO hates 9/11 victims.

What's with the Algore thing?

If Obama picks him as his running mate in 2008 without vetting him and he then resigns from office amid a host of ethics complaints and then he begins campaigning for the 2012 election as a "Contributor" on MSNBC, maybe. I mean, these situations aren't comparable. I hate this obsession by those on the right with equating everything on the left with some equivalent on the right, as if Evan fucking Bayh is equivalent to Sarah Palin. What SR and GON said, too.

It is Daniel Quinn's novel, Ishmael. You sound like the gorilla.

It gets the money because it brought in like eleventy billion dollars and those smaller movies don't do that.

When we realized everything is a lot more complex than we originally made it seem.

When I posted that, I thought it might lead to some confusion.

I was using "butt" as a verb. I thought that might cause some confusion.

I know what both of you believe. Both of you believe absurd crap. That's why it's going to be entertaining to watch you butt heads.

I like that both JohnO and futureage1 are fighting now. It's an absurd-off! Sweep the leg, Johnny!
