  1. Weird that some shows got outright cancelled (Calgary, Missoula) but other shows are attempting to rebook. At this point, barring some miracle, I can't see any shows happening in 2020, so if you're going to wait for some shows to rebook, why not wait for everything? Sucks for Calgary especially, Wilco hasn't played there in a long time.

how were ticket sales for the original date? the promoter could be involved. a lot of those guys are hurtin' for certain.

  2. The CDC has updated the list of symptoms for COVID-19.

    Previous list of symptoms:
    shortness of breath
    cough
    fever
    Additions to list:
    Chills
    Repeated shaking with chills
    Muscle pain
    Headache
    Sore throat
New loss of taste or smell

  3. The Dead & Co canceled their summer tour and everyone who bought tickets, should automatically be getting a refund within 15 days - no action required on the ticket buyer. Hopefully this pans out -- seems like the easiest policy from a consumer perspective. I am guessing Dead & Co. people had to get involved with Ticketmaster to get this done - which I am grateful for.

remphish1 -- you and your family should put on your own concerts --- my kid is taking violin - I play with along with him on my guitar (at times, much to the chagrin of the kid).

Don't play anything: grab some pots and pans and sing songs.

in a lot of cases, Ticketmaster hasn't been giving refunds if a show is postponed (even without make-up date). only shows that have been outright cancelled. i think the outcry & threatened lawsuits are changing that now. in the case of the stones, the tour was postponed. tickets ran into hundreds of dollars each even topping a thousand so people were upset. what made roger waters stand out at the time was his tour is still on albeit a year from now. like i indicated, roger personally intervened with ticketmaster & insisted that refunds be issued if the purchaser wanted the money back. i don't really buy expensive seats anymore but scored some really good cheaper seats for that show. i'm going to just hold on to the tickets. am into it for about $250 total. if that would've been more, i probably would've asked for the refund. maybe this whole episode will shine a light on what a quagmire ticketing has become. that industry is totally out of control.

  4. May?

    try next May.

I have tickets for Chris Stapleton/Margo Price/Mike Campbell in June & a rescheduled Drive-by Truckers in July. I have serious doubts as to whether those are going to happen or if they do whether I'm going to be comfortable going. Being high risk, think I'm going to be a bit squirrely for awhile. Fingers crossed for Nick Cave in October. Of note: Roger Waters postponed for a year but intervened with Ticketmaster to ensure that anyone who wanted a refund rather than wait are able to do so. There's been some ugly things going on with refunds for the Stones tour for instance. Early on during the crisis, I asked for a refund for Wilco in Seattle. At the time, it looked like the show was going to happen. The venue said anyone who wanted a refund could get one & provided instructions for how to with Ticketmaster. I never received a refund or even an acknowledgement. I'm fine with waiting now. Weirdly, they've announced a Portland make up date but not Seattle.

  5. I am fortunate to count myself among the crowd for their last show in the U.S. at Voodoo Fest in NOLA in '08. It was just before Obama was elected, so they were very high-energy. I stood on the rail for what seemed like an eternity for that set, realizing that at age 33 it might be the last time I'd be willing to do that.

Ya, that's a young man's game haha. I went as long as I could until the RA got me. I think the last time I did it was for the Replacements reunion show & Nick Cave about a month after that. I sit upstairs now, usually in ADA seats so that I can actually sit. It's a bitch of a disease. I got a few years on you, too.  :rock

  6. I saw them a few times early on in pretty rapid succession: Beacon Theater in NY, Capital Theater in Passaic NJ (filmed for something I can’t remember now), a gym at Drew University in Madison NJ, a field at Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ.

I think the Beacon Theater was the first time, but I honestly can’t remember now.

I think Rutgers was later than the other shows - I remember them doing Feeling Gravity’s Pull at that show, which was a new song at the time.  (Wow, I am really stretching the powers of my memory here.)

Saw them a few times later on - New Haven CT (can’t recall the venue) - Feelies were the openers, PNC Arts Center much later on.  Radio City Music Hall at some point fairly early.  Probably a few more times but I just can’t recall.

The whole Capital Theater show is up on youtube.

  7. All a matter of perspective unfortunately I was 14 when monster came out so I missed most of their high touring density days. Saw them in 95,98,99,03,08 I believe??

Ya. I'm older than dirt. I have a friend who used to produce Sessions at AOL back in the day. She lives in NYC but when they did 1 for REM they did it in a studio in Vancouver. I got to go & hang all day with them. This was about circa Reveal. I found a clip of Nightswimming from that show on youtube. I was sitting about 3 feet from Michael Stipe for the whole show. In that video, you can see my feet sticking out, haha.
