Early reports (often incorrect) are that he was a former or current TSA employee. But I'll add that "assault" rifles are already illegal in California and it's already illegal to have a concealed firearm at LAX. The same goes for murder. Not sure what else can be done, but I'd start by having the security checkpoints, metal detectors and screening devices at the entrance to the airport.

It was an honest question. The only thing that I can come up with is that you think CNN is in the "See, there were WMDs in Iraq all along" camp, but the story doesn't say anything like that and I'm left in the uncomfortable position of having to guess what your intention was and, like I said, I don't like to do that.

Supplies have loosened up greatly over the last few weeks (with the exception of .22 LR) but they're still too expensive to hand out like candy. Maybe next year.
-
No, you are 100% wrong in your assumption. And that's all it is: an assumption. Again, I intended to do nothing of the sort. I wish you'd explain your frustration with the CNN story and their fact checking, because I still can't understand what your beef was.
-
I have no problem with admitting when I'm wrong -- just a few minutes ago I admitted that I missed your intention regarding your yellowcake comment. I do have a problem with people telling me "how I really feel" and second-guessing the intention behind my posts. I'm not a liar, so if I say someone wasn't my intention, it wasn't my intention. I try my best to extend the same courtesy to everyone else.

I made no such claim. Even if I had, it wouldn't warrant your attack on CNN for not fact checking the story. Sorry, but you're trying to put words in my mouth and thoughts in my head. You can't point your finger at me for something that exists only in your imagination. Because someone yelled "Yellowcake Yellowcake Yellow Fucking Cake" and the first thing to pop into my head was the story from 2008; I remembered it well. If I had intended to relate it to the Plame thing I would have said so explicitly.
-
Yes, but I'm not sure that you did. The Snopes article is in response to a false e-mail claim that the 500 tons of yellowcake was proof that Saddam Hussein was actively purchasing uranium and attempting to restart his nuclear program. The CNN article makes no such claim -- it's merely a factual report about said yellowcake being removed from the country. Read it again.
-
I guess I missed it. Read the CNN story again. It is completely factual and in no way relates to the story posted on Snopes.
-
Your mention of yellowcake had no context. If you had said something about Plame I wouldn't have posted that link.
-
I made no such claim. I just wanted to remind people that there were 500 million tons of yellowcake in Iraq. What needed to be fact-checked in the CNN story?
-
You mean the 550 tons of yellowcake that the United States removed from Iraq during the war?
-
Yes, and I remember a lot of talk about removing a dictator and bringing freedom to the Iraqi people. I also remember that Sadam's regime resisted WMD inspections tooth and nail for years. They'd block inspection teams, sneak stuff out the back gate and generally hinder the entire process. Then there were the repeated attacks on coalition aircraft patrolling the no-fly zones ...

I think you'll find that there are millions of Republicans who are smart, too. Hell, I'm willing to bet that my IQ is higher than President Obama's. I'm sure there's a reason that he never released his SAT scores or college transcripts. Nope.
-
I was thinking more along the lines of college professors being so far left that I just shake my head at them, just like the nuts on the far right. Despite the revisionist history about the war being based only on WMDs, I'll be outraged whenever anyone proves that Bush knew that there were no WMDs in Iraq before the war began. The current administration knew that their claims that people could keep their insurance policies was a lie from Day One.

I can't see how. I think he's probably a douchebag, but his trial was unnecessary. This is even more ridiculous. We'll have to agree to disagree, because I have years of experience and many media friends who say otherwise. Maybe we can talk about university professors next?
-
I, too, am bothered by it. But for what it's worth, I've seen plenty of articles trying to paint the cancellations in a positive light. I don't read/watch Fox, so I can't really say if it's damage control or actual, factual, reporting. All I can say is that I hate lying politicians (I guess that means I hate all of them.) Yeah, you posted a link to Daily Kos; that would be like me posting a link to Fox News. I'm going to stay with what I've known and experienced firsthand: most of the media are bent very much to the left. They are good people and they try to be impartial in their reporting,

I was even filling growlers. My neighborhood knows how to do Halloween.

I handed out 10 pounds of candy and 2 or 3 gallons of home brew. Another successful Halloween.

The president sold a multi-trillion dollar program that will affect the health and financial situation of every American based on a lie which he told over and over again for years. It's a big deal.
-
A bullet-riddled silhouette target adorns the door in my garage. I worked at a newspaper for 8 years and many of my best friends are reporters, editors and publishers. They'll all admit -- privately, at least -- that the media is very much skewed to the left. “That means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health-care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health-care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.” -- President Obama

They were involved. They also train together, travel to different parts of the world to fight, communicate extensively with leaders like bin Laden, share funding and hold strategy meetings with each other. They are members of the same umbrella group: al Qaida. Yes they did. Millions.
-
I think you'll find that al Qaeda are quite organized and have common goals, beliefs and methods. I'm comfortable with calling them both terrorists as long as the gunman is doing it for political or religious means and not just because he's mentally ill.
-
I mentioned a date when two well-planned, well-executed terrorist attacks killed Americans. As I've already said, I'm not a liar. Anything else you might read into my post is a figment of your imagination. If several members of an organized Nazi party remove a couple of Jews from their homes and gas them in the name of Nazi Germany, yes, I'll allow it. But it should really be called a micro-Holocaust as detailed in my earlier post. I said that spending on social programs dwarfs military spending. It's true. That made me do a mini- . I told the recruiter that I wanted the Army to ut
