If the young and healthy decide to roll the dice and pay the penalty instead of buying insurance, then it could all fall apart if most of the new enrollees are people with chronic health issues. But, as you mentioned, demand will increase. Increased demand equals increased costs for things like food, gasoline and housing, so it's not much of a stretch to assume that premiums are likely to rise.

It's not like the administration and its media devotees haven't been doing the same thing.

If you're in the mood for comparisons, then consider this: the national debt has increased by $3.5 billion each of the 1,730 days that President Obama has been in office. Two billion dollars is a drop in the bucket.

At a cost to taxpayers that is somewhere in the hundreds of millions of dollars, I think I will.

ACL has been canceled due to rain, so don't expect any streaming performances today.

I just tried and failed yet again. I've tried password recovery and they say they'll e-mail instructions, but nothing has arrived.

They aren't fake. But I'm beginning to suspect that the website is running on a single PC from 1993.

I have no intention of doing so, but I'd like to take a look around and see how the plans compare to my current coverage. It just bombed on me yet again. Every time I try to create an account it fails, but when I go through the process again it tells me that the username is already in use, so I have to create a different one. The website's database must be filled with thousands/millions of duplicate accounts.

I don't recall seeing it outside of California, but there it was. There were only 2 of them buried in a sea of chuck roasts and rib eyes.

I usually use chuck, but the ones I found were either way too small or way too large. I found a tri-tip that was cheap and in the right range, so that's what I used.

Finally tasted a bowl and it's pretty good. The photo is a bit washed out -- it's much darker and redder -- but you get the idea.
