  2. I don't think I agree with one thing Lester Bangs ever wrote and he is probably my favorite rock writer. EDIT: Probably? More like easily.
  3. Come to think, I never used my alarm clock before I met my wife.
  4. I never even knew about the snooze function before I met my wife. We snooze until we can't snooze no more.
  5. Impossible Germany* is a lot like War On War** for me, in that it has a vocal part that rubs me 100% the wrong way. *"Impossible Germany/Unlikely Japan" **"It's a war on war/It's a war on war/It's a war on war/It's a war on war/It's a war on war/It's a war on war/It's a war on war/There's a war on..."

  9. I watched Babel last night. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't all that preachy or maudlin, like I'd heard. It certainly doesn't deserve the Crap - I mean - Crash comparisons. Great music. Some breathtaking sequences (the helicopter flight, particularly), solid perofrmances. I could've done without the kid destroying the gun, but you can't have everything.
  10. I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in that list:
  11. Amazing to me that Keith comes up with 'Honky Tonk Woman' when rattling off the first three or four Stones songs he thinks are best. That one? Really?
  12. I almost forgot Groucho Marx replaced John Lennon for a spell.
  13. Reminds me of a good set-up: "So, I'm reading Wilco: Learning How to Die..."

  15. Yeah, you pooooooooooooooooooooooooor Chicago folks!
  16. Not that any Wilco song could be a hit (I really thought "Theologians" was going to be a single and a modest hit), "Hate It Here" has my (doomed) vote as the candidate from this album.
