Did you throw magnets at the fridge to write that sentence? (just a joke, a joke...)

You think that one's funny, check out "This Govenrment Needs A Tune-Up"! (Caution: Lyrics are douche-chill inducing)

No, but you've reminded me: Does anyone else think of John Lennon's alphabet poem when Tweedy sings: The streetlights glow Comes and goes When the sun comes back As we all can plainly see

They matter to me. That's all I need. If I was influenced by some vague feeling that a band is less "important" than they used to be, I would stop trying to find stuff I like and get on board with Mix 98.5 24/7. A one note act that made great music? That may not be a contradiction, but it sure is a left-handed criticism. Paul's Boutique is almost 20 years old. Has time exposed it for what it is yet? Nice, I saw a Beastie show with Luscious Jackson/ L7 that summer, too. At Rocky Point Amusement Park in RI! One of the best days ever. A ticket to the show got you access to the park all day, so the place was just swarmed with stoned Beastie fans soaking in the sun taking rides and playing Skee-Ball.

Yeah, I live in Boston. Sometime in the fall of '92 I saw them at the Roseland Ballroom (Rollins Band opening) in NYC. That closed the book on the Summer of Beasties - 4 shows in 3 states in 3 months. Good times.
-
That was probably '92; I was at a fall '92 show where Hurra did at least one of those songs.

All popular music is rock and roll, in my book.
