There's etiquette to consider. If had heard a few songs at this point I would probably post within an existing thread something like "Holy crap guys I've actually heard some of this album for real and I'm really excited about it, can't wait til we all can discuss"; I would certainly not start a new thread with a song title as the subject and post the lyrics and cryptically say I heard it. That's kind of weak. Anyway I did also tell the OP good for him, so you're not unique in that respect, either.

    I'm sorry about that, too.

I don't recall a time where some people here heard AGIB before it was streaming on Wilco's site. Apparently TheMaker does. I apologize in retrospect for not coming out and admonishing those people for "creat(ing) quotes in their profiles based on (then) new songs" if I did indeed see such things at said time.
  4. ditty is just quoting Wilco's post from wilcoworld.net, without using quotes.

That's cool, and I can understand you're excited to share, but starting a thread to talk about a song nobody else here can even hear? Can't you hold it in a wee bit longer?

I may be out of line, but (assuming you're telling the truth, which I think you are) would you please have the decency to STFU until this thing streams or leaks.
  7. I'm sorry for somehow fucking up this thread so that every reply is visually a reply to howdjadoo's post.
  8. Don't think this got posted yet: http://www.uncut.co.uk/blog/index.php?blog=6&p=1722&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1#more1722
  9. The pattern never ends: when an album is brand-new, reviewers trip over themselves fitting it into the band's discography via "it's A meets B meets C" ... but once time and familiarity settles the album into place, you never hear it compared in the same way.
  10. Go for it. From Candy Golde's Terms and Restrictions:
  11. Yeah, but still no Max Johnston onboard, so does it really count?
  12. I think he meant to quote me. I ordered the vinyl Whole Love, but I have a feeling I'll be listening to the digital copy a lot more (provided it's a good album!), since I do not enjoy flipping discs every two-three songs to hear the whole love album.
  13. "Wilco (The Song)" should've been a b-side, "Deeper Down" is forgettable, "One Wing" is a potentially good song buried by thudding dullness, "Bull Black Nova" is boring, "You and I" is pretty and slight, "You Never Know" is fun after one listen and useless after two, "Country Disappeared" and "Solitaire" are the only two good songs, "I'll Fight" is a song on this album, "Sonny Feeling" is sorta cool, almost good, ultimately just there, and "Everlasting Everything" doesn't really exist.
  14. If it weren't for Walken and What Light, SBS would be perfect to me. I enjoy Walken, and can bear What Light sometimes, but damn, they are light years behind the rest of the album.
