  1. That is badass. Go Jets, destroy Big Ben.
  2. Yikes. Some of that rambling looks familiar, too. Not anyone specifically (here or elsewhere), but I recognize the 'type'. Damn.
  3. No problem, it was fresh in my mind because I check in on this every couple of weeks....sucks!!
  4. Until Apple stops being douchebags and allows Flash, you're fucked, unfortunately. There's lots of supposed, iffy workarounds that I have not dared to try, but Google "flash workaround ipad" (set results to Past Month) and you'll see them.
  5. I hope the speech helped the loved ones of the victims and the people of Tuscon feel better, but I felt nothing, other than letdown by the feeling that nothing's going to change, nothing in our national conversation is going to be 'worthy' of these victims.
  6. Free earplugs is a great idea in general. Digging this Mascis tune, thanks for posting it Moss.
  7. You probably know the station - 92.5 The River
  8. Ya just have to hit the 'Reply' button at the lower right of the person's post. Oh wait, I see. I'm kinda dumb.
  9. What's the lyric? "Good communicator" my taint.
  10. Hey hey, I saw you guys when you 'opened' for I Am Trying To Break Your Heart at that theatre back in '02 or '03. That was a great night, and I still have the Rookie Card plastic baseball card cover memento you handed out. Still have the baseball lampshade? Sadly I'm nowhere near SD anymore...
  11. What is the lyric? Every tear tastes the same, or every tear doesn't?
  12. Not really interested in it, but what a great poster ^^ Watched For Your Consideration over the weekend, and enjoyed it thoroughly. My expectations were low since the overall reviews made it seem like a limp, tired extension of the Guest troupe movies, so I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a huge fan of Guffman/Mighty Wind/Best In Show, but I like them, and this one is right up there with those. Guest's director character was oddly magnetic, and the weather woman with the monkey puppet was wtf awesome.
  13. This is going to only make things a lot fucking worse. That is to say: no one's going to tone down anything in the national discourse. Most likely, this will bring the Left and the Right even farther apart.
  14. The only problem with lost nuggets being unearthed in that manner is when people don't do their homework, as when I heard Pink Moon on the radio around that time, and the DJ said "That was Nick Drake, with a new song off his new album, Pink Moon." He really said 'new' twice. I almost drove off the road.
  15. And in unrelated news, the Wrigley Field lawn team lays off its irrigation man.
  16. Black Swan was a blast. The Invention of Lying was intoxicating until it ran out of steam ("too bad it had to remember it was a movie" I said to Lady S. afterward).
  17. Wild - I was in Starbucks earlier today and some Buckley-esque rendition of 'Hallelujah' was playing overhead, and I thought "Enough of playing Hallelujah, people. It's not fucking Love Shack." So I don't have a problem with all the covers specifically, just the number of times I hear the song. It's a great song that loses some of its magic each time it is aired. Best use of it is in Basquiat.
  18. Well then your reply to my post wasn't warranted. Misguided.
  19. You did, meaning you saw a Christmas ad for Jeep Wrangler and it helped you decide?
  20. WHO THE FUCK WHO IS EVER GONNA BUY A FUCKING CAR FOR SOMEONE FOR CHRISTMAS IN THE FIRST PLACE NEEDS A FUCKING TV AD TO CONVINCE THEM WHICH ONE TO GET?
