Mike Watt should've inducted The Stooges.

Hey do you know Dave Aaronoff (ex-Shods)? I worked with Dave Aaronoff at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where I once provided a bottle of water to museum guest Tony Bennett, at his request.

Thanks for all the great tunes Alex.

Just logged in to ask the same thing. Guess not.

What's people reaction when I say...'Dire Straits'

Good a reason as any. -

I think David Byrne is a great artist, one of those rare types that can be at once accessible and mysterious.

Pretty much the same for me. I also think of Knopfler working with Dylan. And that headband. -
Seinfeld would be a nightmare as Tonight Show host. I can only take so much of his horsefaced over-laughing at subpar celebrity stories. The worst thing about The Marriage Ref to me (I watched the premiere episode) is that awful elfin host. Great point about ref vs. ump, Winston. Stupid show.

Michael waxing on about how he doesn't want to become that young guy (forget his name) was the best part.

3/4s through Bag of Bones by Stephen King Hadn't read a King book since high school, and got the itch recently. Picked this up at the library from a litter of his titles. And ah, it's doing a good job of scratching that itch.

My mortgage is through Wells Fargo. I recommend them, I guess. Of course, mine was one of those "how-the-hell-did-they-ever-approve-that" type of loans from way back in the glory days of the mid-aughts.

I'd wager even Penn didn't know what he was talking about. Thanks for the info Beltmann, re: Mo'Nique/politics. Hadn't known about that. Sounds like that was it. Best parts: Baldwin, after applauding Woody Harrelson: "he's so high!" / Martin after a really nice heartfelt speech from a 'nobody': "I wrote that speech for him."

Nope. I check here about once a week or so: http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/

I think she was referring to the controversy surrounding her film - "politics", aka: people being critical of and questioning the purpose of Precious. To many it comes across as a white-guilt voyeurism trip wrapped in a faux righteous indictment of the welfare system. I've heard this argument a lot in the media, so I bet Mo'Nique has probably heard it about 100,000 times more than I have. Either way, she totally effin' deserved it.

Funny - going in, I would've said 'I just fucking hate Amy Adams' face. But I do love Meryl Streep.'

Ahh fuck. -
Julie & Julia - finally admitted to myself that I wanted to see it, and well, it was lovely.

Yes and no.

Crow, I know you think I like to start shiz with you, but c'mon, it's a copout to say this: and then make a claim that it's your dry humor being misread when people disagree. Were you really being ironic by writing that? Because it reads like an honest opinion. And if you were being ironic then, does that mean you always are?

I consider an underrated film to be something that unfairly gets a bad rap or is generally ignored. and if a Scorsese film can be underrated:
