Finally,I listened to Backspacer. I enjoyed it. I hope that it grows on me.
At first I thought this album was done so that they can use these songs to replace the other rockers. You know, after something like Oceans or Release. Boom! Then they launch into about 4 rockers then slow things down a bit. I was surprised to hear some slower songs on here. While off the bat, I don't think there's any gems like Army Reserve or Gone from the last one.
Now, time to look at the calendar and think of when Pearl Jam will come to Boston.

Has probably listened to Deee-Lite's Groove Is In The Heart more than Radiohead's last 4 albums.

Jeff signed this poem in my Adult Head. Funny, thing cos he signed it "You Suck Jeff Tweedy" cos during the show - Calvin Theater, Nov,. 05, I shouted "You Suck" when he said that he was not going to do my request.
I framed it. Sigh
Cool story. Not sure if I can pinpoint what voice you had in the "black abyss'?
This is also where I got to meet Jeff after the show and have my picture taken with him. Is your avatar from that show?
I know in my picture it looks like Jeff is coming out of a Dharma (from Lost) Station. I'll have to find it and post it.

I watch Community, and Parks and Recreation (now), but still feel they are Office clones (in some ways). I have to say that the Community Halloween episode was funny as hell. Abed is the man.
Yes. I agree.
That episode was I think my favorite episode out of any of the 4 shows on Thursday night this season.
Parks & Recreation keeps getting better too. I also feel that 30 Rock is getting off to a slow start.
I'm not sure how Community seems like The Office besides being set in a closed environment like a community college as opposed to an office.
Although, here we go again with another will-they or won't-they with Britta and Jeff.
Parks & Recreation is from the same creator of the American Office, Greg Daniels. As I'm sure you know.
So that to me obviously feels like the bigger clone, but it doesn't matter much because the characters are pretty great.

Erik Ritland's situation reminds me of my own for Pearl Jam's Backspacer. My fricken' friend gave me the cd to burn onto my computer and I still haven't listened to it yet. And I think I narrowed down the simple reason no matter how lame it may sound, but it does make sense to me. Pearl Jam didn't come to Boston on this Fall Tour, so I didn't feel the need to listen to the album in a rush. That being said I have heard mixed reactions to it on this board. I'll listen to it soon enough.
RE: Wilco (The Album) - I always have felt that it is a better collection of songs than Sky Blue Sky was. I LOVE every song from start to finish. On Sky Blue Sky I'm not so crazy about Leave Me Like You Found Me. (I keep picturing Beast Of Burden). And I take Solitaire over Please Be Patient With Me. But that could change a week from now.
Edit:
Ironically, I feel that the songs off of Sky Blue Sky really shine/get better when performed live. To me it feels like W(TA) sounds a lot more livelier and fun as Speed Racer pointed out. I guess what I'm trying to say is I haven't heard a bootleg yet where they've topped the recorded version of something from W(TA).

If Wycked Sceptre were to tour, the world would melt in fire and brimstone.

I remember seeing Cherry for the 1st time in Tim Robbins' Cradle Will Rock. And I'm 100% sure that she walked by me around Madison Square Garden in 2000/2001.
This may sound weird, but if I were to cast my late grandmother looks wise it would be Cherry Jones in about 10 or so years.

I voted for R.E.M. I came close to voting for Pixies since this was the only time they made music.
Granted, I was 5 when Murmur came out. I recommend picking up 39 songs if you like the IRS years. There's a lot of pre-Green stuff on there.
I'm more familiar with Violent Femmes, thanks to Grosse Point Blank, than The Replacements. Although, they are on my list of bands to catch up on.

Nope, I'll have to check it out and I'm sure it's hard to find because I've never heard of it.
The other Campbell Scott movies I've seen are: Singles, The Spanish Prisoner, The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, The Secret Lives Of Dentists, Music & Lyrics.
I would like to check out Crashing, which is him playing a novelist who gets to hang out with 2 sexy coeds. LOL. Got to be great.

I guess I'm lucky to have an independent record store within 20 minutes of where I live. It's not super big space wise, but big enough I guess.
I remember back in the 90s in Nashua, NH there used to be Rockit Records. They even sold bootlegs and those were very expensive obviously. They closed and Newbury Comics took over.
The best record store that I've been in in the last year was while on vacation in Montreal. http://www.archambault.ca/qmi/catalog/category.jsp?navAction=jump&lang=en&id=ACH&
They had the store set up with Classical music in the back in its own "private" section.
Now my question is: Do any of the remaining stores have iPod buying docks? Basically, a place (record store) where you can walk in with your iPod and listen to music and then buy it and load it onto your own iPod. It seems against the nature of a record store, but if they present themselves as both could they survive? Any thoughts on this? I'm guessing it doesn't exist.

Only read the thread title and a bit about what's up.
But I did experience something that Best Buy messed up this past weekend. They had the Watchmen Ultimate Collector's Edition Box Set out on Saturday.
It wasn't supposed to be out until this past Tuesday. Not sure how that slipped by?
Also, I've had trouble finding the Chronological Three Stooges 2 DVD sets that they've been releasing since 2007. They usually put them out about a week or 2 after they've been officially released.

"I ain't kissin' that ol' bitch! "

I had to reply something the opposite of what's been said to show that there are still some people out there that are thick or just plain oblivious. This happened to me on Tuesday. I posted it on my Facebook page as is.
while waiting in line yesterday to check out for my groceries the following conversation occurred between the female teenage cashier asking the male teenage bagger: "So like why are we celebrating people who take care of dogs tomorrow?" Bagger: "I don't know that's a good question". :*(

Christina Hendricks is famous for Mad Men and Firefly amongst other things.
Eva Green was the Bond girl in Casino Royale and also in The Dreamers.
-
I prefer Winston's call on Christina Hendricks and Eva Green.
-
I prefer the Muppet Babies
So what you're really trying to say is that you want to crash on a desert island with muppets, BUT go through a time loop that makes them babies?

Please. I can bench 85 lbs. - 92 lbs. if I only do seven reps a set and get an extra 10 minutes to cool off between sets, and if there's only one set.
You're totally going down.
-
Is it fair to have 5 more celebs that are sent to rescue you but they crash safely?
I can think of more people to spend the rest of my life with.
