  1. This thread has a purpose, so I'm leaving it in place tonight, but with reservations considering the behavior of several posters. I'd have been in here sooner but had internet connection problems most of today. Most of you don't really understand or fully appreciate how much energy, time, and carefully-considered decision making goes into the fairly thankless job of moderating Via Chicago. Our (unpaid) staff works very, very hard to set a tone in these forums that is both open and welcoming to our wide range of members. Differing opinions are a given in any group so large, but a person can d
  2. Amen to that. They always manage to remind me of what's important in life.
  3. What a KICKASS, KICKASS, KICKASS show this is. I never want it to end. Like every Wilco show. DAMN.
  4. Probably, and Jeff would have to give us that hand-on-hip schoolmarm glare so we'd remember to shut up.
  5. We're going to get Spiders tonight.
  6. I love these online get-togethers so much! We really are all together, just separated by space. But it feels like not even that, doesn't it?
  7. Can you all feel the virtual hug I have you all wrapped in, and us all swaying back and forth? And it's not just the beer, either! It's the spinach dip too.
  8. Shut up, announcer!!!!! ENCORE! ENCORE!! ENCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  10. Do you have to keep doing that???
  11. Yes, but you're here now. Here, have this lampshade & get dancing. Edit: I'd make more sense if I quoted folks. Hi AWATT!
  12. Could somebody pass me a beer and some of that spinach dip please? Damn, I'm sitting here with a big satisfied smile. So excellent, my band.
  13. I think it's a near certainty.
  14. Hi Wendy!!!!! This day is finally getting better!
  15. I'm here now. Yum, I'm always in love.
  16. So sorry, Chris. Her blessings live on in you, Bethany, and everyone she touched.
  17. And I felt so bad about that, Drew! We'd stopped to pay respects at the WTC site, that night, and didn't realize how long the drive to your place was. Ah, but it was another excellent hotel, with first-rate staff who wait up for you! We need to try this again under less frantic circumstances....besides, I have yet to meet the Lukester! Someday, someday soon, I hope. Yep, both directions, and as Drew will tell you, we had to carry baked potatoes in our pockets to keep our hands from freezing on the way! It's true! And some days we had no baked potatoes so we had to carry baked rocks.
  18. Man, I was so sick on that trip that I shouldn't have even been there....started out with only a mild cough, but when I get bronchitis, I get it, like, instantly. When I came home after the 4 shows I had fullblown pneumonia! Oddly enough, in spite of that those 4 shows are some of my very fondest memories.....terrific concerts, and surrounded by great friends. I only wish I'd been well so I could've enjoyed it more, but it still ranks as one of my favorite outings. Brennan had an absolute blast. But yes....we spent much of the trip lost, thanks to our carefully printed out maps from the int
  19. Well for shame! I liked your brief review! AND I even read that entire Plain Dealer piece, and enjoyed it!!!!!!!! (Uh oh, don't get me started with the exclamation points; they've been getting away from me today...) Ok, so first I offer you: :blush and I will follow with heartfelt: as well as and So, are we good? Apologies, ol' Tugger.
