  1. This back and forth sneering argument has gone far enough. I think the point being made.....that it's a good idea to consider the feelings of other concert-goers, in one's own behavior at a concert....is something we can all easily agree on. This isn't rocket surgery, folks. It's the old Golden Rule. Consider how you would feel, and behave accordingly. There's room for all types in the world, but regardless, and always, mean people suck. Don't be one. And let's drop this ridiculous and childish argument here and now. Otherwise, the thread will be closed, etc. Isn't there enough nastiness in
  2. Ah....now I understand the comments thanking Ken for his efforts....I thought those were in recognition of his usual job-well-done on a live broadcast. Again, must read entire thread. Hi Ken! Thank you for your efforts and for the roadcase! You rock. Thank you Wilco.
  3. It never happened??!! See what happens when you don't take the time to read all 13 pages? But hey, all the more reason we need "another" live broadcast! . I'll bring snacks and lampshades for everybody, and we'll party like it's 1908 or something. We can call it the "Concert for kidsmoke's dad". I'll make him tune in and everything. Only we won't ask him to dance, because as my sister once confided, "Dad dances like he's riding a horse." Y'all keep that last bit to yourselves. He may not be able to dance, but he's the sweetest guy in the world.
  4. I am unhappy that I missed this, but as my dad is freshly home from the hospital, I had other things on my mind. He's fine, thanks, but gave us all a good scare with internal bleeding! A medication problem, apparently. I think another live broadcast would be a great way to celebrate my papa's recovery, right Wilco?
  5. I'm so glad her family was able to get a sense of how many lives she touched. I'm comforted that we were able to bring comfort to them! Thanks, Maudie.
  6. Thanks so much, Geoff! I can't wait to hear it!
  7. My kids just took me to see Iron Man....not my typical sort of movie, but we all had a great time! Bjorn's right, Downey was very good in it. And while we're discussing Iron, The Iron Giant is one of my very favorite movies as well. Just beautiful.
  8. Robert, sorry, I didn't see your posts. Let me give the moderators a shake & see if we're up to revitalizing this project. VC went through a lot of changes in the past couple of years, and a lot of those who were once interested in doing songs for this seem to have dropped out. I'll get back to you & cousin tupelo.
  9. Here's the policy: No, it is not allowed to advertise anything for sale on Via Chicago.* However, there is no reason that a member can't contact friends on the board by private message if he/she thinks his/her friends might be interested in buying the vinyl albums he/she wishes to sell. Please, keep such pm's confined to your friends, and don't pm people you don't know. *With the obvious exception of the ticket exchange forums.
  10. Damn, Jen, how'd I miss your special day? So sorry to be late, but I hope you had a beautiful birthday & will have a glorious year ahead!
  11. Love and the happiest of birthday wishes to a wonderful concert buddy! For you, Sarah....Hummingbird cake! Have a wonderful new year of your life!
  12. Evonne, I am in awe of your talents! Those are incredible.
  13. YAY Binky! Looking forward to your recording, and glad you got a great show to make up for the unavoidably-cancelled one last year!
  14. Happy Birthday to somebody who can always manage to make me laugh! Have a great day & a great year!
  15. Well, I'm intrigued! What's it about, in 20 words or less?
  16. You made me snort with laughter. Unattractive, but fortunately I was alone. At least now I understand why TMM isn't managing Spoon anymore. Thanks for the clarification.
  17. Oh, Kate, his spirit surges from that photo. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Yes, I definitely see him in Emily. She carries what was best and brightest in him.
  18. I hug you across the miles for being easily amused.
  19. That looks fascinating, but deeply depressing! Snakes on a Plane(t).....how do you read it as recreational reading? But then some writers can make even such a topic pretty damned riviting.
