  1. I saw the two shows in Minneapolis last December. My cousin and I both went to the second show, and when we were trying to find a spot in the parking ramp across from the State, we saw a parked car with a custom Wilco license plate(Illinois plates). I'd never seen one of those before, and we got so excited, that we actually walked all the way across the ramp, once we'd found our parking space, to take a picture of it, because i thought it was so cool. I still have that picture on my camera phone. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the owner of the car is a poster here on VC!

  2. i heard it was going to retail for 39.98. so, with whatever pre-order deals amazon offers, that won't be bad for a 3 CD/1 DVD set.

Here's the amazon listing for the box set. i've been checking daily, and i hadn't seen it until today, so they must've just put it up. It'll be interesting to see if the price changes from now til release day.

  3. Shoot, that sucks about the bus/train. I don't have a car, and I can't drive. However, I could've sworn i saw an online schedule for a bus from the Pittsfield train station to North Adams. I might have no choice to take the train/bus route, if the plane is too pricey. The hotel prices will add up, too.

  4. So does anybody know how to get to North Adams, Ma. from Chicago without a car? I know i can fly or get a bus into Albany, but from there I'm stuck.

EDIT: Looks like I can get an Amtrack train from albany to North Adams! Looks like this might be possible to me to go to after all.

  5. I'm actually kinda relieved to hear this news. I've never gone, and I'd wanted to go this year, but i don't have the funds. Now that i know that there'll be another one next year gives me plenty of time to save up for then!

  6. I just lost my cat a couple of weeks ago. He was the same age as Cutty(20 years).. I think i might be able to understand, at least a little, how the Tweedys might be feeling right now. I still haven't quite gotten used to life without a cat in the house, and i probably won't for at least a while longer.

  7. I got really lucky! I got one at around 10:10am this morning. After being thrown out of line twice, i just kept refreshing the browser, and got all the way through the 3rd time around. As a post above suggested, there probably was a canceled credit card or two during the initial rush, and i probably got one of those.

  8. Based on my experience I'd say it sold out in less than a minute.

Super Fans: Is it really necessary for you to buy tickets to EVERY Chicago show? I think their goal in adding more shows has been to afford more Chicagoans the chance to see them, not to make it possible for obsessives to see them three times in one week.

that's possible, but then how do you explain the 5 "Residency" shows @ the Riv.? Surely they know that their die hard fans never get tired of seeing them here in Chicago, and it's only natural they would try to give "em what they want...more Wilco!

  9. I had great luck with etix up until today. Got in right at 11am, got through to the "processing" screen, but it came up as "not available" at 11:02. It's weird, b/c i ordered tickets for the last 2 Chicago shows on a slower computer and everything, and i got "em both times. I was quicker on the draw today, but i got shut out. I'm not really too upset. You can't win 'em all, but i am continuously amazed at how much pure luck is involved in the ticket ordering process! I'm glad that i got lucky twice before.

  10. The presale and on sale dates for the newly added shows have been posted on the Wilcoworld "Shows" page.

There seems to be no details about the pricing, yet. I'm also interested to know about the seating arrangements. I want to get tickets for the Minneapolis shows and the Chicago show, and I've never been to either the State Theater or the Civic Opera House. Do these venues do General admission?

  11. The owner of the local record store said he thinks The Kinks must be planning some sort of Reissues at this point. He is not even stocking old kinks now, something about them not being on catalog (or something like that).

Actually, the first 3 albums(Kinks,Kinda Kinks, The Kink Kontroversy have already been reissued, as i've already got 'em and I hear that more are planned for the future. A Legacy Edition 3 disc uk import of Villiage Green Preservation society(I've got that one, too) was put out a few years ago.

EDIT: Face To Face, Something Else, and Arthur have now come out as well, apparently in just the past month. A muswell Hillbillies deluxe reissue is planned, but i don't see it on amazon yet.
