  1. mp3's, no. am happy to torrent the full show in flac on etree, but so far i've had all of 1 person mention they want it - so i'm not exactly in a rush, what with work and sleep getting in the way. ;)

Even though I recorded the webcast, I'd also like to see a FLAC. version of your recording...once you've gotten some sleep and have the time to put it together, of course. The webcasts can't be circulated as a torrent, and having any Australian show circulate is kind of rare for us fans. In the band's history, I think there's only one of two Australian shows that are available out there.

Thanks for taking the time to share what you have so far. :music

  2. I captured it. I almost missed The Lonely 1. I thought the stream was done, and i hit record just in time before the song started up. Did any of you guys get the same silent gap i did after Spiders? I left the room for a minute during that, and when i came back, there was silence. Then I heard Jeff talk about Glenn's unfortunate accident! :lol

The sound was pretty much flawless for this one.

  3. I'm gonna try to capture it just in case. They haven't put up every webcast in the roadcase. For example, the 5-20 webcast from London was never posted, and that had "Be Not So Fearful" with Bill Fay. I'm glad i decided to capture that one, although there are technical problems, which is why they may have decided not to post that one.

I've set my alarm for 5:30 tomorrow morning. :yes

  4. Ok Aman, I've got these on my external hard drive, and they are now in the process of being transferred to O&B FTP site. It'll take awhile due to my upload speed, but it'll be worth it. I've probably got more of those shows archived somewhere on my dvd-rs. I'll have to check once this transfer is complete. There's about 5 gigs worth of shows to transfer here so far.

The list of shows that i am currently uploading:

Wilco 3/11/1999 Chicago, IL FM? dead seed tape city

Wilco 11/23/1999 Detroit, MI SBD dead seed The Traders' Den

Wilco 7/4/2001 Chicago, IL FM dead seed The Traders' Den

Wilco 11/19/2004 Los Angeles, CA SBD dead seed pure live gigs

Wilco 3/14/2005 London, England SBD dead seed bt.etree.org

Wilco 4/30/2005 Indio, CA AUD dead seed pure live gigs

Wilco 6/11/2005 Berkeley, CA AUD dead seed tape city

Wilco 6/17/2005 Morrison, CO AUD dead seed tape city

Wilco 6/28/2005 Montreal, Quebec, Canada AUD dead seed tape city

The 6-28-2005 show that I'm uploading is the SBD version that I believe was originally seeded at Etree. I don't think that one is in the archive yet, either.

  5. Why is that? Is it somehow illegal to record the webcast or is it just because the quality is worse?

It's basically a quality issue. Webcasts are usually broadcast in mp3. or "lossy" quality. So even though they sound great and the original source is from the soundboard, the result is a transcode. The major torrent sites won't allow anything that isn't lossless or is transcoded.

  6. I would strongly recommend not putting it up on dime, or any of the torrent sites for that matter. They would probably ban it and I don't think the band or their management would be too happy. However, I believe these should be archived in some way so that in the future fans could listen to them long after they are no longer in the roadcase. The only solutions i can think of are putting it up at the Owl & Bear. If i make mine available, I'll certainly include a request in the text file not to torrent it. That would be a bad idea.

btw Owl has let me put up other webcasts in the past.

Arcade Fire to perform for Obama in Ohio

    Posted: 09:58 AM ET

(CNN) – Add a few more stars to the long list of celebrities lining up behind Barack Obama.

The celebrated indie rock group Arcade Fire will perform two concerts for Obama in Ohio on Sunday and Monday in advance of the state’s crucial primary contest, CNN has learned. They’re set to perform at an Obama rally on Sunday in Nelsonville, southeast of Columbus, and again on Monday in Cleveland.

The Montreal-based group consists mostly of Canadians, but is fronted by Texas native Win Butler, who initially reached out to the campaign to organize the gig.

Butler made his support for Obama public in January after the New Hampshire primary, when he blogged a pointed, if somewhat profane, critique of Clinton's victory speech on the band's web site.

According to the music web site pitchforkmedia.com, the Arcade Fire frontman isn't the only high-profile indie celeb to endorse Obama: Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Conor Oberst, a.k.a Bright Eyes, have also jumped on the Illinois senator's bandwagon.

  8. On" Dime" right now with almost 400!! :thumbup Seeders

Oh thats the FM broadcast from Tues. night. I meant the webcast from last night. The dime probably wouldn't allow the webcast, anyway. I'm sure there will be an aud. tape appearing there before long, and hopefully the webcast will show up on the roadcase. I was just curious to see if anyone here did record the webcast.

  9. Oh i forgot to mention that i've grabbed the torrent of of dime and now I'm helping Analogman to seed it at etree. Hopefully things will move a little faster now for the folks who are trying to download it over there.

Jc4prez, I'll see if i can do a sendspace upload for you once their are more seeders at etree.

  10. lol and your a good man for it!

I guess i'll post it here too, anyone who can do a megaupload or sendspace would be appreciated. I don't know about others but comcast doesn't let me do bit torrent. (if anyone knows a way around that a clue would also be appreciated).

Wow you're not kidding, Jc. I looked up "comcast bit torrent" on yahoo and i came up with this. It's a good thing i don't have comcast. I couldn't live without bt.
