  1. Official videos of Tweedy's Farm Aid set are up on youtube, courtesy of the Farm Aid website. There is a box below the videos where you can donate money to Farm Aid, too.

The links below are in the order of songs played...

  2. Th latest NPR Tiny Desk Concert features the Nels Cline Singers. Thought I'd post that here for those of you who are unaware. It looks like it was posted just this morning. This sounds great!

btw it is available in both audio or video. To get the audio version, subscribe to the NPR "All songs Considered" Podcast in the itunes store. If you want to get the video version, subscribe to the NPR "Tiny Desk" podcast, once you do so, it should start automatically downloading. It did for me.

    enjoy!

  3. no cd that i can find... :dontgetit Usually it's in with the vinyl packaging with other releases wilco has offered cd's with the vinyl. i guess i'll wait to see if others got one before i call.

Hmmm...maybe only the units sold during record store day have it? I'm thinking that might explain part of the 1000 limited editions? Maybe the 1000 units sold at the stores have the cd and the rest don't? I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I'm going downtown early in the morning to make sure i get this thing.

  4. my copy landed early this morning at my office from Nonesuch. :rock First impressions of packaging and B&W photos are just what i expected form this band... OUTFUCKENSTANDING!!! I can't wait to spin this tonight!

I will not go into detail on the photos so i don't spoil everyones delivery. :cheekkiss

Did yours come w/the cd too? Does the cd have the bonus tracks?

  5. so the link might have to wait till the morning because uploading the 400MB file seems to be taking forever! But i'll let it go overnight and I'll post the link tomorrow morning.

What program did to use to record this? I'm curious, b/c i can only get recordings on my old pc. My newer laptop, for some reason, doesn't work with the programs that I've tried to use with it, and I'd like to find something that does.

  6. I second this question..mad respect to whoever does it

I'm gonna re-record this Boston stream. It doesn't seem to have the dropouts that the original webcast had. Since all webcasts are lossy, however, any recording should be split and shared as mp3s. not lossless.

  7. Here's a link to MP3's of the 4-6 Boston Webcast. Not sure, but there may be a limit of 10 downloads from Rapidshare. I've never uploaded before. I also still have the wav files that I can flac and then try to torrent. Is there a specific site I should use to torrent the show?

    http://rapidshare.com/files/373462673/Wilco_Boston_4-6-10.zip

No torrent sites for webcasts really. There's usually rules against it, since the original quality of the webcast itself is actually lossy. We might be able to put it up on the Owl & Bear Wilco archive. There are other webcasts from the past up there now, I believe. We should consult w/Aman...

  8. Would you mind telling me what program you use to record the Webcast?

    Thanks!

I used something called "Creative Labs Sound Recorder." It's a program that was free w/my desktop when i bought it. I don't think there's a freeware version of that available. I was surprised to find it included when i bought it. Tonight I'll be forced to use another program on my laptop. I hope that works.

  9. My recording appears to have turned out fine. We'll see when I split it into tracks later.

Let me know how yours turned out.

I'm gonna do the same for mine. Other than the occasional right audio channel dropping out, the recording was a good as could be expected for a live webcast. Recording tomorrow's show will be trickier for me. I'm at work and i haven't had as much luck recording with the laptop as i have with my desktop, which i used tonight. We shall see.

And yes, i'll try to share what i have somehow. Maybe we can put this up on the O&B archive. This one was pretty special.

  10. My software that came with my computer works great, but it Converts the recording to wav. which kinda sucks, considering that the original quality of these webcast is lossy, but that the only format it'll convert to that i know of. I then convert it back to lossy. It's also the only one that works for me without difficulty.

Hmm. This must be the original version of "So Much Wine" that we are hearing? Jeff has covered this in concert.

    EDIT: Handsome Family. Gotcha.

  11. I just saw record store day updated their page and it says that this is now coming with a CD too! So that probably means those extra tracks will be on that right?

I certainly hope that's the case. I plan on getting this either way, but it'd be nice to have a cd w/those extra tracks.Wilcoworld doesn't list a cd. That's odd...
