Do you have trouble maintaining an election?

Yeah, I couldn't believe that that is actually in the Washington Post. -

The real reason that Hillary is losing is because women are not as smart as men (not my actual opinion). -

She can spin it any way she wants, but that won't cancel out all the delegates he already has and will continue to pile up. -
Oh yeah, I'll take the under on SF too. Their offense will be historically bad.

I'll take the over on: Baltimore (I'd pin them at 68-70) Cinci (80-82) I'll take the under on: White Sox (75-80) Detroit (89-92) Yankees (89-92) Seattle (80-84) Toronto (81-85) Everything else looks about right.

I don't really understand the weird primary/caucus hybrid that they use in Texas, but I get it enough to know that there's no way of knowing how the delegates are going to be split between the candidates based on statewide polls. -
You might want to try again -- my girlfriend was trying to by Sox @ Tigers tickets all morning and had the same problems you did, and then tried again an hour ago and we got tickets for the April 5th game, and not even bad ones. I think a lot of them were probably being held while people looked for tickets but then not all of them ended up being bought.

There are some pitching question marks. I feel pretty good about the rotation. Not sure of the order exactly, but it looks like it's probably going to be Verlander, Rogers, Bonderman, Willis, Robertson. Verlander is of course fucking awesome. Who knows about Rogers, but he may get hurt again anyway, and there are a couple of younger guys who can step in and do the job. Bonderman has to break out one of these days, but even if it's just his standard year, that's pretty damn good. Willis has had a very up and down career, but he's still only 26 and hasn't peaked yet -- I think he'll surpri

The Tigers line-up will not be unbeatable as some people think, but it will be incredibly solid and probably the best 1-9 in the league. I'm expecting Granderson to have a similar year from last season. Ordonez, of course, will not be as good as he was last year -- that was a crazy career year for a guy in his 30s. Sheffield is a wildcard. Yes, Guillen's bat is less valuable as a first baseman than as a shortstop. He's also slipped dramatically in his fielding in the last couple of years, so the move to first base could save some runs on the other end of things. And remember that las

I have no problem with him running even if he does not want to be president, if he thinks he can introduce some important issues into the discussion. I just don't think there's any reason to really believe that he can. The way to build up a viable third party is not to run the same presidential campaign every four years and then disappear until the next election. Nader still has a lot of respect from lots of grassroots type organizations, but is looked at as a bit of a joke on the national stage. His experience, connections, etc. could be of better use if he'd direct his efforts towards b

I don't have a problem with Nader running, per se. I just don't see what the point of it is. He hasn't accomplished anything by running before and I don't have any reason to think that he'll be any more successful this time. It's not that I don't think he should run because he can't win -- I understand full well that winning is not the point of a third-party candidacy. I just think that, due to his failure to make any impact on the issues he champions in the last 8 years, that his efforts may better be spent in other ways.

Gore did not make it an issue in 2000, and I wish he had. But he did a lot of great work for the environment during his time in the Senate and tried to as Vice-President. I'm not really sure what you mean by it being a pet issue for Dems though -- I can't think of any who have really tried to do much for the environment in the last 8 years. Certainly there is a much larger grassroots movement than there was 8 years ago, but I would credit Gore (mainly through his movie, but through other things as well) for this. I suppose it's possible that Gore was inspired by Nader to revive his environ

I think Nader is most effective as an advocate and activist. His strengths don't coincide with running for office. Are you serious? Al Gore was the single strongest environmental activist in our federal government. Well, first off, that was NOT his goal in 2000. In 2000, the goal was to get 5% of the vote so the Green Party could get federal funding, and he failed at this goal. And on the issues front, he's failed there as well. Which issues has he successfully forced the major parties to address by running? No, that's not true at all. I just have to believe that any

I like the first two Mars Volta albums a lot (and the debut EP isn't bad either). The third album was okay, but the new one is pretty bad, IMO.

Sure, but isn't it imoprtant what that "something" is? Shouldn't it be something that will actually make an important difference? If the tactics used end in miserable failure, isn't that an important thing to consider?

Holy shit. Will definately be checking this out as soon as I get home from work. A million thanks for posting this. -
Dumars has made a few boners (see: Darko) but for the most part he's been fantastic. The only other real mistake I can think of was that stupid Nazr Muhammed contract, and yet he managed to correct that by dumping him for two expiring contracts (and one of them -- Walter Hermann -- isn't even a scrub. He could really help the team if they need him). He seems to understand the salary cap better than anyone else in the league and knows how to make the right deals.

They've been like this for the past couple of seasons -- they have a hard time with motivation sometimes, but when they are focused they're as good as anyone. I'm really excited about the young guys on the team. Amir Johnson, Aaron Afflalo, Rodney Stuckey and Jason Maxiell are all impressing the hell out of me. Jarvis Hayes too. If in a few years the starting line up is Stuckey, Afflalo, Johnson, Maxiell and Prince, I think they should be solid. The bench this year is contributing a lot more than it has in the last two years, and all of the starters are seeing reduced playing time, which

For Nader's stated goals, he'd be better off focusing on grassroots organization rather than trying this again. His ego is getting in the way of his motives. The issues that he stands for are good ones and important ones but I think his tactics are way off at this point.

The Pistons were fantastic yesterday.
-
Yeah, but he really shouldn't have won the Cy Young that year.
-
The problem is, he was actually hit in the neck, not the head. The helmets certainly make things a bit safer for the coaches, but a helmet would not have prevented Coolbaugh's death.

Dennis Miller is an idiot. Michelle Obama is an educated, intelligent and accomplished woman. Why should she just relegate herself to being arm candy for her husband?
