Sure, but how will it look in the 2012 market? It may be way below market value by then.

Hasn't Michael Stipe come out 15 times already? I don't think that counts as coming out when he's just repeating something that he's said many times before.

I'm doing pretty well so far except that I had Gonzaga in the Elite 8. I've only had a few more losses so far and all of those are teams that I had losing in the second round anyway. Really glad Western Kentucky pulled that off.

I saw them at Schuba's a few weeks ago and thought they were good, though they could have turned down the reverb on the vocals a lot. It would have helped.

For a second I was thinking it was Johan, in which case you got him for too cheap before but would now be totally screwed. How does that work in an AL only league when someone moves to the NL anyway? Are you pretty much just screwed?
-
Is that Ervin Santana then?
-
Interesting. When I saw X for the first time in '06 Rollins was the opener.
-
I'm drafting in both of my leagues tonight.

He was in Guided by Voices

I'm drafting David Eckstein in the first round.

So do you get points for like grounding into double plays and walking in runs?

I'd heard it before. I just meant that that's the only part of it that really struck me as being wrong at all, regardless of how commonly held the belief is. Obviously that's not something that Obama would want to be associated with him personally. The rest of it just struck me as angry though factually correct and rational. Maybe angrier than most of white America wants to see a black man act, but that doesn't mean that what he had to say was wrong, nor that he was wrong to be angry.
-
I bet the Sox starters don't play much vs. LA.
-
Sure, but it shouldn't discredit the candidacy of someone who you're associated with either. Especially given the context.
-
Right, but in April you get to be in Japan for a week ahead of time so its not quite the same crazy travel schedule as it would be if you dropped it into the middle of the season.
-
The stuff about the CIA creating AIDS to kill black people is insane. But the rest of it sounded pretty reasonable to me. Sure, it was angry, and maybe not what people like to hear, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Why is it so controversial to comment on the fact that a lot of fucked up things have been done in the name of our country? It's a fact, and yet when someone says so, all of a sudden people are mad about it. Black people have been systematically fucked over to varying degrees from before the founding of this nation right up until the present day, and a lot of inequities exist

How is that league scored though? Wouldn't you just be best off benching all of your players and accumulating no stats?
-
To go back to the earlier thread, I don't know that it would be players complaints that would prevent scheduling games in Japan mid-season (though the players probably would complain). I don't think the front offices would agree to it because of the affect it might have on their players. Since only 2 teams would be affected, if one of those teams lost a game or two upon returning to the U.S., and then ended up one game out of a playoff spot at the end of the year, that would be the end of American baseball in Japan forever.
-
I doubt any team would agree to travel that far mid-season. At the beginning of the season, they can build in some extra days to rest up both when they arrive in Japan and when they return to the U.S., but in June they can't do that. Also, the Japanese baseball season runs pretty much the same time as the MLB season. I don't think the Japanese baseball leagues would be very happy about Major League games in Japan mid-season to take away interest from Japanese baseball.

I'm with you, quarter. Bring back Cooper.

I guess.

Wright was not and has never been a paid member of the campaign. I don't think he's even done any unpaid campaign appearances. That's just false. He was a member of his African American Religious Leadership Committee (one of 130), but did no campaign work and was certainly not paid.
