i am shocked at how good this album is. actually, i'm shocked that it's any good at all...

I'm not certain, but I would imagine it has something to do with the nature of sports - players are recruited, they don't apply for the job. I would think that teams could go out and recruit who they want. Now, if they refrain from hiring someone or fire someone based on religion that would be illegal, but I have to believe that there are some non-Christians on the team. I don't have a religious bone in my body, and I kind of wish the Rockies had KEPT those recruiting practices a secret. Based on cryptique's point they probably should have...

Oh I know, and I agree. I'm just sayin' that the Rockies seem to be getting a little tired of repeating that they don't really want to think about what's happened, why/how they've been on such a tear, they don't want to look back, they just want to look to the next game... that's all.

If I'm the Rockies I'm getting really tired of reporters asking about "the streak". 16 of 17, 17 of 18, 18 of 19... how much are the explanations going to change??? Also, it was great to see Willy Taveras do some damage with all the talk that Hurdle was making a mistake putting him back in the lineup... That is all.

Yeah, we didn't notice either 'til the announcers informed us. I have to say that this is a pretty f'ing sweet start to the series. And what an apropos way for the game to end, in light of how the whole game went for Arizona. Dude, grab the base. That's what it's there for... TBS is still calling it a controversial play, even though they said that if he hadn't stuck his arm up and rolled over Matsui he would've been fine...

We must be on the same wavelength because I was just thinking this morning how I haven't listened to that OX album for quite a while. I think I'll have to throw that on next. Here's hoping they find some studio space, make another great album, and come touring to Colorado - you can convince them when you pop in...

That Rockies article is news to me too...
-
this is lovely. thanks for the headsup, T!

Yeah, William was great. If it's any consolation, we walked through the WOXY.com room during White Rabbits' soundcheck to see if we could catch their first song, and that place was already packed. Those two indoor stages were way too small...

I've got White Rabbits on Saturday. Can't wait ever since I skipped them at monolith for William Whitmore.

^ i didn't know they changed their name. they have a couple of shows coming up that are still billed as say hi to your mom...

The more I listen to this album the more I realize... Resurrection Fern is perhaps the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Ever.
-
I'm going to have to check out In Rainbows, I guess.
-
What are all you midwesterners doing up this late, anyway?!?
-
The only Radiohead song I can remember loving is Fake Plastic Trees. And that was via a Lori McKenna cover. I guess I'll give this new one a try though...
-
not me. just never been able to get into radiohead. is it any good though?

Hi Drazil. I don't know you, but I hope you have a happy birthday!

New Wes Anderson Film: The Darjeeling Limited
Mystik Spiral replied to Welsh Rich's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Tried to make an advance screening tonight, but we weren't lining up 3 1/2 hours prior to showtime like everyone else... so we ended up drinking at a neighborhood bar. I do want to see it, though. -
That's lovely, Jen. I lost the last of my grandparents years ago, and it's always difficult. My thoughts are with you.

an ounce of a vibe request...

Mart, my thoughts are most certainly still with you, Patti & family. You are amazing people and I'm sure you will get through this and be stronger for it. -
