  1. Ok, how do I always get stuck next to the "hippy dancy girl"

Anyway, most distracting, not the worst, just most distracting concert experience was watching a guy act out songs at a Lucinda Williams show in hand puppet fashion. Like if she sang the word butterfly, his hands did butterfly Napolean Dynamite style.

I love it when that stuff happens. I'm fascinated with freaks.

  2. :brow This is up for debate?

I watched Before The Devil Knows You're Dead over the weekend. Tomei must have a clothesless clause in her contracts these days.

She doesnt have to do it but thank god she does.

  3. "The Wrestler". Well done and I dont care what people say, Marisa Tomei (SP?) is smoking hot.

"Humboldt County" Could've been a comedy, could've been a drama but whoever put this together didnt know what the hell they wanted. It failed on all accounts. Perhaps they were stoned throughout the duration of making this.

  4. Then you believe it will be destiny that wins over free will, which is essentially what the war, the final season and ultimately the whole running theme of Lost is all about!

    :shifty

I don't think it was a flash. The flashes were always preceded by something, some weirdness and sounds that caused everyone to grab their heads. This was just a flash and that was it...

But we all know by now that the writers love to mislead the viewers and mess with our heads........there's no guarantee that the bomb really went off.

  5.

A couple years ago I bought Volume 3 off the shelf at a bookstore for half price. Who knew it would turn out to offer the best potential return on investment opportunity for me in the last 5 years?

The other 2 volumes I got off Amazon for good prices too (vol 1 12 bucks, vol 2 25 bucks)

What the hell is happening with the GD data market?

  6. Many (if not all) of these folks got started in the 40s and 50s (some in the 30s such as Billie and Ella.)

Yes..........yes...........yes............I went with the greater category of "classic".

To all who have been offended by my gross misjudgement, please find it in your hearts to forgive me.

To the person who originally posted the question, please dont overlook those gals, each are fantastic in their own way.

  7. I don't doubt, but Val's former proximity to the high school, and the fact that many of our parents bought records when they ditched classes in high school - coupled with the fact that it was THE place you went to get records, never chain stores - is what made it so cool. It was THE option.

    Plus Val is a hoot!

  8. Val had to move from the South Blvd. location to over the Ike on Harrison a few years ago; I moved from OP before I had a chance to see the new place. She was initially very hesitant about the move, and when the village tried to buy her out of her location she was quoted in the Trib as saying she wasn't that interested in moving, she'd probably just take the money, buy a lot of pot and listen to records. :lol Guess she decided Harrison wasn't all that bad.

    Thats great news!

Do you know if she still does that big sale?
