Watched 2 schlockfests over the weekend--"The Two Headed Transplant" and "The Thing with Two Heads". One film featured Ray Milland and Rosie Grier, the other with Bruce Dern. Not sure how either film got financed but somehow they did. Neither film was a highlight of human creative thought.

Exactly.
A few months or years from now, assuming we

Nope, aint gonna happen.

Everything was better in the 70s.
Well.........mostly.

Attention moderators!
Can we squeeze "Houses of the Holy" somewhere in there?

Garcia Band used to tour a lot just to help keep the boat afloat, even then.
If thats a euphanism for a constant supply of Persian, I'm in agreement with you.

Antibiotics have come a long way since Penicillin started being used in the 1940's. Most people who died during the 1918 Flu Pandemic died from secondary bacterial infections that could have been cured with antibiotics, had they been discovered.
I really wish the media would quit comparing 1918 with now, it would have been a totally different picture had there been Penicillin.
I also wish the media would let people know that they have a better chance of dying from pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE than they do from Swine Flu.
Even though I know all that and totally agree with you, I still went out and bought a shitload of brown rice, dried beans, water and propane last nite in preparation for a potential martial law and quarantine scenario. If I could come up with a reliable source of Tamiflu, I'd buy a quart.

So pigs are bad, gotcha.
What about boars and hogs?

That was my understanding too, so Vilsack's statement was puzzling. And IMO premature at best and completely untrue at worst given other govts. actions. I personally would not recommend eating a ham sandwich right about now ,no matter what they say is safe.
What about pork chops?
Is it safe?

Dr Sanjay says the incubation period is 2-4 days.

Question:
Why Swine Flu?
Why not Hog Flu?
Or Boar Flu?
Pig Flu anyone?
Overall, I think our bacon producing friend is being unfairly maligned.

Why would they not try and avoid that at all costs by first closing and securing the border?
Because its turning out to be a weak type of flu so economically its not worth the costs to do so?

Both my kids had an upper respiratory flu about 1.5 months ago and were treated with Tamiflu and Relenza. Their symptoms were very similar to the SF symptoms.
I wonder......

That sounds about right. It was at the UIC pavillion. I didn't think Jerry was having a very good day, but it could well be that the sound in the Pavillion had issues.
It was a funny split audience. We thought Jerry and Frank might play together, but of course that was stupid. Frank was pretty anti-drug and of course Jerry was not. Jerry opened for Frank, but ultimately Frank's performance was better, but then again I guess that was because I was way more into Frank.

Thats pretty much what my buddy said about that show too.
He also said it was the weirdest looking crowd he's ever seen.......

Another perk of working in a sales environment is that PC stuff isnt necessarily heeded.

If you're going to San Fran-cisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair!

Unless something dramatically changes, I'm treating SF as a non story.

"Boss of Bosses, the FBI and Paul Castellano"
Its about the FBIs attempt to bring down the Godfather of the Gambino family.
Written by the FBI agents (J. O'Brien & A. Kurins) who planted a bug in Castellano's home/HQ.

I listened to this particular disc like 6 times last weekend.

Set 2 Samson And Delilah Funiculi Funicula, Help On The Way -> Slipknot! -> Franklin's Tower Estimated Prophet -> Saint Stephen -> Not Fade Away
Anyone ever get "stuck" on a particular show or a particular part of a show?

edit: the LP the song was on, Stained Class, is a REALLY heavy record. It also has one of my favorite JP tunes - "Beyond The Realms Of Death". What a great title for a song!
One of their best tunes and better records IHMO.
FYI, JP is playing all of British Steel in an upcoming Chicago show.

"Elegy" with Ben Kingsley. Bloody awful, laughable.
"Heavenly Creatures" featuring Kate Winslet, directed by Peter Jackson. We liked it. Jackson's direction style is unmistakable. The guy is a treasure.
