  1. I really dont get this perception. I mean, do clerks honestly give you a hard time? I shop at a couple stores;

Vals Halla in Oak Park is one, and Val is one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met (besides being an encyclopedia of music knowledge and a treasure trove of stories, having worked for Capital Records in the 60s). If anything shes a hair overbearing if all you want to do is browse.

Wait..........I read awhile ago that Vals was closing.......is she still around?

I cant tell you how many albums I have with her X or O on it :thumbup

  2. Me too!

I saw them at Alpine Valley. The crowd rained sod down on them continually.

They got booed off the stage at Poplar Creek.

I recall the lead singer saying something like "aw, were trying to make some new friends here".

Soon after that they were done. The crowd was having none of it.

    Ah, good times.

(Oh yeah. Scariest crowds? Judas Priest shows topped the list).

  3. I started today off by listening to one of my favorite songs.

I married Isis on the fifth day of May,

But I could not hold on to her very long.

So I cut off my hair and I rode straight away

For the wild unknown country where I could not go wrong.

Yes, you are quite correct. If you havent done so, check out the version on the Rolling Thunder bootleg, its awesome.

Who was talking about El Tapitio? Jayzuz, we used to gorge ourselves silly at that place.

  5. Good to know, thanks! I read something on the Allstate site about a shuttle from the train - any thoughts on that?

I dont know anything about that, sorry.

Right now I'm having pre-show regrets about not going......hell, I even turned down a free ticket for tonite......dumb, dumb, dumb...

  6. I'm amazed they're allowing camping. That should be interesting.

We're taking the train out tomorrow - any advice on that front?

Sure........rather than walk from the Rosemont stop (which I did once, big mistake), take the bus or catch a cab.

  7. Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't planning on doing anything stupid in the lot anyway. Thats real beat though about the cops on the inside. Hope its not like that tomorrow.

It should be fine. In a normal concert, there is a fair amount of controlled chaos which keeps the wolves at bay. At that PF show, it was so so so mellow and boring that the cops used it to their advantage and had a field day. Go get yer wiggle on!

  8. Okay, someone clue me in, ive never been to the rosemont. What am I gonna have to worry about? Calvino I hope you come back on before tomorrow night i loved to hear how things were inside and out.

I've been going to shows at Rosemont since 82 and have seen some overly aggressive behavior by the cops there. All you need to know is be aware of your surroundings and keep a low profile in the lot--common sense stuff. Once you're in for the show, you should fine (although I did see cops pulling people out of the audience for sparking up during an 87 Pink Floyd show).
