  1. "Can you hear my vocals? Cause they're amazing."-Tweedy hilarious!
  2. i see where you're coming from. for me it's just CSN...for good or ill, i love most, if not, all of what those dudes have done.
  3. brothers is doing that for me too. really making me appreciate their previous efforts. can't wait to dig into attack and release after this as well as dan's solo record.
  4. thanks for posting. i think it sounds really good, considering. stills even sounds good. i'm looking forward to this album, if it ever comes out. it's been years since they said they started it. can't imagine why these guys work so slow. from what i've gathered in interviews and articles these are the songs on the album... midnight rider girl from north country uncle john's band james taylor song joni mitchell song neil young song who knows what else.
  5. interesting. i find shonna's songs on this album way subpar compared to the last. lyrics like 'we got a lot of love' just don't fit with patterson and cooley's mature songwriting. in addition, they just aren't good songs. the last album had houston and purgatory line which were excellent. my fear on the next album is that we're gonna hear the new keyboard guy sing a song of his own. i wish they'd just stick with cooley and hood. it is a dense album (both in length and content) and it is hard to give it attention when there is so much stuff to listen to. it's all a trade off.
  6. well, i had some issues with the new DBT when it came out and got nothing less than lambasted for it. i guess it was because it was in that thread. i do like the first four songs. i hate to say it, but Shonna's songs really bring down the album. maybe one by her per album would work. there are too many songs, like most DBT records, so it's hard to get through. i also agree that it's produced/mixed horribly. too much treble and just has a garage sound to it. i guess that is what they were going for, but i miss the immediate, warmish production of decoration day. especially the drum sou
  7. i have a feeling the new Los Lobos will be on my list. I also like Mojo by tom petty. looking forward to the second DBT album in the fall too.
  8. I'm warming up to DBt it is too long for one sitting but the first 4 tunes rock.
  9. yes, i've been looking for a tracklist too. nothing to be found. i'm certain that chris will produce gary louris again and maybe olson/louris. i would also like to see something along the lines of new earth mudd. chris is a really good acoustic guitar player and when he sings quiet, it's good stuff. prolly wont be busting out Katey Dear anytime soon though:)
  10. Tell me more. I've heard they have blakroc 2 in the bin.
  11. jump out the window songs! love it. i would add More Than A Feeling to that list as well. i've seen all the configurations too and the best, by far, was Crosby and Nash. They are just real buddies. saw them as an acoustic duo and it was just great. those two still sound great, even into their 60s. stills lost it around 1972. fyi-the current neil show is great!
  12. from what i've read from csny and joni mitchell, the tour was a nightmare. nash wrote a song called take the money and run based on all the money they lost. i love the version of pushed it over the end from that tour. i like the CSN album from 77 too.
  13. thanks for the link. i hadn't check TW yet.
  14. lanois is laid up. wonder if they recorded before the tour or not. i can see neil blowing him off and finishing the album at the ranch.
  15. that would be cool, but difficult for them as they have a lot of tracked stuff they play with. it must be a nightmare pulling that shit together, especially with the multitracked 80s stuff. i'd love to hear a few rare tracks off each album. the thing is, rush could be like phish or dead and mix things up. just get rid of all the tracks and shit. just play guitar bass and drums with a few bass pedals and analog synth sounds. that would be badass.
  16. does he still play those drums? anyway, the synths were used quite nicely in the 70s up to 82. rush specifically was very intentional about embellishing the music just a little bit with some moog or arp. it all got bad with digital synth, glossy huge production, and songs completely based on synths. again, power windows up through roll the bones would have been incredible albums had they 'sounded' like moving pictures.
  17. link? there's been rumors about this for years. like the archives, i'll believe it when i see it. however, neil is due to put out something here soon. maybe this project is spawned by stuff in the archives II. anyway, would love to get a nice sounding pushed it over the end.
  18. Yep. I just heard it too much and it's just not as visceral to me as Cherub Rock or Hummer. hilarious! sorry about the typo. how about beatles doing hotel california:) another vote for animals. Dogs is a masterpiece!
  19. Siamese Dream is a good call. I can't stand Disarm though Abbey Road-Eagles On The Beach-Neil Young Hemispheres-Rush Story Of The Ghost-Phish Birds Of Fire-Mahavishnu
  20. was there anything better than going to a 3-5 night run at MSG. damn, that was so great! thanks for posting these Digital Man
