Folks, I'm after some advice around getting a pickup for my acoustic guitar. I have a Takamine F360S (nowhere near the top of the line in acoustics but I love the sound I get from it and that's what counts for me) which I would like to add a pick-up to. I would be very grateful for any advice/suggestions around brands and costs and what has worked for others when getting pick-ups put into their acoustic guitars. All the best, Fritz

Who the hell are Jack's Mannequin? Seriously. I completely agree with this. I think he is one of the great musicologists of this generation. I love Theme Time Radio Hour. It's like a new version of Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music every week. -

One more thing... Here's the Sydney Olson & Louris show which was filmed in May of this year. http://www.moshcam.com/web/?#?page=player&type=gig&id=573 -

After seeing Olson and Louris here in Sydney I decided to seek out the Creekdippers' back catalogue. However, they are hard to find. I've had some luck on Ebay. I was trying to buy them in chronological order but, alas, had trouble finding 'Pacific Coast Rambler'. The first album, though, is quite beautiful. -
A consummate musician. R.I.P.

You've convinced me to do the same.

I have downloaded the leak. I have burnt it onto a CD. I have labelled said CD. But now I just can't bring myself to listen to it. It all happened to easily. I want that feeling of apprehension before gratfication. The trip into the record store, the ripping of the plastic coating so I can read liner notes before arriving home, putting it on and cranking it up. I've just convinced myself. Im putting the leak CD away now as a spare and waiting for June.

Oh well, Ask and ye shall receive. If there is some kind soul out there... Many thanks. EDIT: Wow, very quick. Thanks to the good folk who sent an email. Happy to return in kind for those in need.

I've been listening a lot to Gillian Welch so I have to mention David Rawlings.

I'm seeing Louris & Olson in May here in Sydney and very much looking forward to it. Do they tour with a band or perform as a duo? -
My excitement is palpable. I have just bought tickets for my wife and I to attend the Lips' show here in Sydney in July. We have never seen them live before. After we saw Leonard Cohen earlier this year we felt as though we had just seen something akin to the Sermon on the mount. Will there be similar such epiphanies with a Flaming Lips show?
