I've always thought the guy in Camper Van Beethoven was/is a fantastic guitarist. His playing on Key Lime Pie is so supportive of the songs, and does not fall into the typical trap of scale patterns or other guitaristic exercises. Jorma Kaukonen deserves to be in this thread.

I recently watched a documentary on the guitarist Tal Farlow. Lenny Breau joins him for a couple duets. I don't think I had ever heard Lenny, but it was just incredible. EDIT: Whoa, nice simultaneous Lenny Breau name drop. Talkin' about influential: Les Paul.

If I didn't have to take my dog to obedience class tonight I'd definitely be paying Francisco and Jesus over at El Tapatio a visit for chimichangas and jumbo margaritas.

I spent a couple hours this weekend watching Mike Watt clips on Youtube, since he isn't bringing his band to Atlanta on this tour. As a result, Joe Baiza is the newest entry on my favorite guitarists list.

Yeah, that's classic stuff. My whole family went to see that when I was a kid. Fast cars, cleavage, Burt Reynolds, fat guys getting slapped. That movie had everything a 12 year old boy could want. RIP Dom.
