Having guests like these is a Gene Simmons-esque move. They think the younger generations are going to forget about them if they don't tie themselves to acts that appeal to children.

It had to have been tough for Nels (maybe Pat too, but I don't know enough about his backstory to comment). Nels had been a somewhat well known and highly respected musician for a long time, just not to the point where he could make a consistent income. At the time he joined Wilco, the Nels Cline Singers were a pretty new project that he was obviously excited about, so it had to be pretty wrenching for him to put his band and other projects on the back burner only for Wilco to almost immediately be put on hold while Jeff Tweedy got the help he needed. I agree it'd be interesting to learn

Those poor animals don't deserve such disrespect.

The paycheck would be the same without the insipid guests ruining their songs.

Why is Keith Richards putting up with this teen-bop parade?

^^ That is the most boring comment on this thread. With the possible exception of that one ^^.

Eno-related: What can you tell me about this album?

That's very easy to believe. -
Pat Sansone with a perm would make a good stand in for Tom Fogerty.

I thought he did a great job with that. Too often, people who do those AMAs (ask me anything) give flippant answers and act like dicks. Dave Grohl comes to mind as a recent example.

There has been some improvement in this thread since this morning.

Yes, to some extent, but that's not why I hate this thread.

RIP Trevor Bolder - Bowie bassist, Spiders From Mars

I mean, a lot of older music stars are going to die in the next few years, and it's going to be quite sad. -

This hits me harder than Ray Manzarek passing. The Trevor Bolder era of Bowie's career has been very inspiring to me. The next few years are going to be devastating. -
Zappa has played all sorts of different guitars, but I've never seen him with a Jazzmaster.

To my knowledge, I've never heard a single second of this band's music, but they have been inescapable in the last couple of weeks. This isn't EDM is it? If so, I'll pass, although NIle Rodgers's involvement has me intrigued.

Tom Verlaine, usually a Fender player.

Having seen both bands, I agree. Review posted in the After the Show section.
