I know, and your point is a valid one that I agree with. I just have a problem with Joe. He's obviously talented, but also a giant douche, based on some interviews of his that I've read. -

I think he said at one time the The Band made him want to cut out the guitar solos. Then again, he said that at the end of Cream, but he kept doing long solos with two more bands before his singer-songwriter/very little soloing era started. -

I've read (and watched) a lot of Jeff Tweedy interviews. Some of the quotes in the first one seem like they're either made up or paraphrased.

Yeah, this guy is astonishing. I saw him with Mclaughlin, too. Must've been 1990, or so. Very unorthodox playing style. I had forgotten about him, but I'll keep an eye out for thigns he plays on.

I saw him play two 2x4s on a floor once at an ICP Orchestra concert. It was incredible. Youtube has a video of him playing a drumset made of cheese.
