Starlite Walker
The Natural Bridge
American Water
Bright Flight
Tanglewood Numbers
Nice. I'd even toss the Tennesee EP in there as well if that counts for anything.

That is a buttload of dates and I thought I had missed my chance to see them this year...these guys remind me more and more of wilco everyday...will definitely be at the Boston show.
-
no, i didn't see harry potter today... i'm waiting a bit for the crowds to die down.
but daniel radcliffe on conan tonight was charming, intelligent, funny and absolutely adorable. what a great interview that kid gives... plus he's a fan of art brut after seeing them at reading a couple years ago.
art brut did "direct hit" and it was pretty much what i would have expected. good performance. plus i love eddie argos... talk about a dude that totally needs some ritalin...
i watched this last night too and was surprised at how well spoken and charming daniel was...i think he convinced me to go see that movie. didnt catch art brut though...apparently their new record is pretty good.

I always turn to Ryan Adams. The thing about some of his songs is that you realize, "i may be sad, but definitely not as sad as this guy."

Did the NYC show happen? I was going to come in from CT but figured it wasn't worth it with the weather as it was.

Calvin Theater, Northampton MA - November 2005
It was my ONLY "Just Jeff" show, so that's all I have. Glenn opened and I had never seen him nor heard him before...it was incredible. I use Glenn's part of the show to lull my children to sleep...all that outdoor stuff, ya know?!? It's REALLY cool!!!
And, Jeff was just ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY INCREDIBLE!!! I ended up with a 6th row center ticket at the last minute by a miracle and experienced the most wonderful night of my life until I met Jeff 1 1/2 years later
i was at this show as well and listen to this recording pretty regularly. i also throw in my vote for 3/5/05...thats the one where he calls nels right?...something like 4 encores...full band (minus nels) comes on stage at the end

what is the actual color of this cover? ... i have seen at least 3 or 4 different ones
-
i like the off-beat sort of marketing theyve been doing for this movie...anyone have an idea if its any good?
-
The thing at the bottom, not the thing at the top.
i know...secret spoon show with 149 other people sounds pretty cool to me
-
The two touristy things I'll probably do are Pike Place Market and perhaps the EMP.
EMP is an obvious choice but it is realllly fuggin awesome.
I also saw the Boeing factory when I was there which is way cool.
I went in the Space Needle, nothing exciting but some decent views I guess.
Can't remember any local secrets as I was only there for a few days but it is a great city.

im seeing the free spoon show tomorrow (wed. 7/11) in battery park NYC should be a good time...anyone else?
-
what happened? was it a big awesome prize?
i am going to look for this record at target today.

This is in the wrong forum...there may even already be a thread on it!
edit: ill add my 2 cents anyway: Shout at the Devil is the album that made me believe in music.

That thing must be broken, cuz it shows mad non-votes for "Hate It Here."
thats what i voted for

Adventure is not as good as Marquee Moon, but it would be absurd to expect it to be. With MM, you're talking about a perfect album from front to back, among the best ever made. Adventure is merely a great album, but not classic like it's predessor. But it's way too good for Television to be brought up in this thread.
enough has been said but i just have to show my support here...Television should NOT belong in this thread!!

I happen to think that "What Light" is the worst song on the record, so no, I don't think he was fucking with us in that way. Maybe he was fucking with us in making "What Light" the leadoff single.
haha...that was my initial reaction as well

Just saw them Friday night here in NYC....surprisingly good live band, for as much of a studio band as they seem.
NP
this was the first jazz album i ever actively listened to, it is amazing

im on hold right now with delta airlines...they are playing Beck "I think im in love"... before that was that 90s one hit wonder that goes "dont give up youve got a reason to live"...not bad.

the beach boys

...was wilco's best record and confuses me as to why it gets so much hate, even from the most hardcore wilco fans
-
For me it's "Side With The Seeds" hands down. Nels' performance leaves me just smiling and in shock at the same time. Brilliant.
agree with you on side with the seeds in terms of new material, also i dont think i would ever get sick of hearing handshake drugs live...probably my favorite live wilco song

i saw this drawn out video on pfork a few days ago...interesting concept but im not too hot on the song...jenny looks nice though
