I don't know. I do know, however, that I rarely resist making a joke in this and all other threads on this board. -

Sorry - Barack's "change," as it applies to you, will be "Goodbye fries, hello quinoa." -

Yeah, but a lot of people would rather vote/eat a turd sandwich than eat/vote all that fancy hippie food. -
I have heard support for it, mostly from the I Hate Shoveling Snow Coalition.

"Bjorn never should have ran the Marlborough Republicans' meeting notices, because they were bad people and no one should have even been going to their meetings. And he depressingly never missed an opportunity to use a classic rock reference in a headline. Furthermore, his printing of the names of people charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana can only be called pandering and, considering what has come to light since his passing, rank hypocrisy."

I imagine every Turk in the world is going apeshit right about now. What a second half.

1. Trot is playing right now and I assume he will be a starter, until Church's head gets better. He has had at least one hit, but I am watching the soccer now. 2. Yay cute kids! 3. There are tons of Yankee, Red Sox and Cub fans all over the place, and these fans will sometimes be resented by cranky hometown fans. Your point is correct - if hometown fans want a hometown crowd, they should buy up all the tickets.

Jesus. I hope when I pull the croak chain, there won't be a thread debating my journalistic failings.

This what happens when you win a World Series or two.

I understand completely. That was a killer moment. -
Sure. It's up to the reporter and the people who pay him or her as to what kind of reporter they choose to be. Reporting is a very subjective pursuit, akin to therapy sometimes. It can take a long time and many pounded drinks to develop sources to the point where they trust the reporter is not a bad person looking to do a hack job. A lot of times, being a reporter is kind of like being a spy or an undercover cop - your true agenda has to be hidden, but in your own mind, you have to keep a clear division. Not all succeed at that, and the penalty is losing credibility. Being irked at Russert bec

Those of us who do journalism for a living, at any level, always know more than we can or should print. Every reporter has to come to their own conclusion on what terms to accept information or talk to sources. Russert was a good interviewer, not an inquisitor. I am pretty sure NBC was not paying him to interrogate his guests like Meet the Press was really Camp X-Ray. If he did, he wouldn't be able to get people to go on his show - who would, if it would be that unpleasant of an experience - no one would watch his show and there would soon be no show. I knew a reporter once who refused to talk

I was making French toast when that happened. They just ran the clip of the call of that play from Spanish radio - it was hilarious.

Jesus, that was a nice piece of soccer from David Villa just now.

I haven't heard anything to indicate that Congress will get less Democrat this time around - if the Dems can get a bigger majority there, McCain, should he win, will find it tough sledding. So may Obama - Democrats are psychologically much less able to fall into line then Republicans. Checks and balances - thank you, John Locke!

If we really had fascism in this country, I would be dead, as they always come for journalists first. I am not dead, so no fascism. I may be accused of not being alarmist enough, but IMHO, America's too big and too diverse a country to even possibly be run in a fascistic manner. My one worry, though, is that the power of surveillance and information technology does tend to grease the rails for a more authoritative structure. Watch Net Neutrality - if they really are going to make an attempt to control information, they will start with the Internet, and use ISPs as their tool.

Mets acquire Nixon! No! Wait, this one!

To be honest, I still can't get past him not being fired after last year. It's about a word that's thrown around a lot, but varies in meaning from situation to situation: accountability.
-
I give him props for getting thrown out of the Yankees game where Delgado was robbed of the homer, but really, that's Willie's job.
-
Well, fuck him, then. (No offense - I'm sure he's a wonderful human being and all.) The Mets need a raving, upholstery-chewing, base-humping, obscenity-spewing, umpire-berating, shit-throwing lunatic, not Mohandas K.

I don't think Cancers are a "cabal" type of sign, but they do get along well with Scorpios. I'll make sure you know about our next open house!

Randolph, couple coaches could be on the way out in Queens By Jon Heyman, SI.com Willie Randolph's status as Mets manager is extremely tenuous now. General manager Omar Minaya is seriously considering changing managers and at least a couple of the team's coaches, sources told SI.com. A Mets official indicated that nothing was expected to be decided today regarding Randolph's status. But that doesn't preclude something from happening later this weekend. Front-office sources indicate his hold on the job is shaky, at best. Should Randolph be fired, bench coach Jerry Manuel will take over,

The other side of propaganda is information control, which Bush could not effectively accomplish.
